My wife didn't think we'd be lucky and see any whales. She was very impressed when we tracked next to two pair of blue whales. The crew was very informative and professional. We saw several groups of dolphins and some squid also. We would do the trip again and highly recommend it.

Our grandchildren (age 10 and 12) enjoyed seeing the dolphins swimming along the boat and leaping out of the water, and we were all thrilled with the sightings of three blue whales. The captain did a great job of maneuvering the boat to maximize our view of the whales as they displayed their tails just prior to their deep dives. The boat was not crowded and we had plenty of room to move about from one end/side of the boat to the other. The trip was definitely well worth the money and we will go again when in the area!

This was by far the best trip of whale watching I had been on. We spotted three whales that gave us a great show and the boat Captain & Crew were outstanding in spooting and information.

Something for Everyone--Great Experience

My wife and I, along with our 18 month old son went blue whale watching last week. Overall we were extremely impressed.

We went on a Tuesday, on one of the half-price tours. We were happy with the accessibility of the location. Specifically it was easy to locate off the freeway, free parking was available right near the check-in location, and the relevant dock was within 100 ft. of check-in. Very low stress, which made it easier to manage our very active son.

The crew was helpful and the captain's instructions informative as the boat headed out (about 5 minutes after the hour--we had some late arrivals who held things up). As we left the harbor we ran through a (in my opinion) fairly large group of dolphins, which surrounded the boat and were very visually entertaining. My son particularly liked this portion of the experience, as the dolphins were close enough that he could get a good look at them. He called out ever time he saw them for the rest of the two hours, which was fairly often.

We saw 3-4 blue whales, which seemed to be taking turns coming up and showing off for the boat. Had a number of good fluke (tail) shots as they dove down, and once the whale surfaced quite close to the boat--it was amazing!

Overall a fun experience. Two hours was a bit long for our son, but he did quite well and enjoyed the dolphins immensely, and my wife and I had fun watching the whales as well.

Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience from start to finish!

The crew and captain were polite and professional and the whales were amazing!! Understanding that the captain cannot produce the whales, what he can do is maneuver the boat so that everyone on board gets an excellent view of the animal without getting too close and disturbing the creatures!!! It was wonderful. We saw 11 blue whales and three HUGE pods of dolphins. Everyone on board was knowledgeable and friendly. And the boat was large enough that even this prone to seasickness passenger had a great time.

Yes, we saw whales, but only when the boat turned on its own or the whale popped up beside the boat. The boat is not big enough for all to be on the bow so many of us were on its side. The captain was so worried about taking photos himself that he would constantly turn the boat to face the whales. This left some of us behind the crowd, unable to see anything. Thank goodness whales are unpredictable and they showed up out to the side once in awhile or we wouldn't have seen much at all. No tip for that cappy!

My family was visiting in town, so I decided to go whale watching since I'd never seen whales before. I booked online for three but was told that the boat was full for that day (this was a sunday) and I could re-schedule for the next day. So I did, and man, did I enjoy!! We saw about 8-10 sightings of about 3-4 blue whales, the guys steering the ship took us real close to the whales and we got some awesome views. On the way back we passed by a shoal of dolphins and it was a pleasure to see them whip out of the surface every 3-4 seconds. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed and so did my parents. The guys who were steering the ship were very good and went out of their way to ensure all onboard got great pics. They were also very informative, giving out tidbits of information about the whales every now and then over the blow horn. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Book in advance though, and try going on a weekday, the crowd is lesser and there is more time given per trip. My whole trip lasted about 2 hours on the sea. Very enjoyable indeed!

Outstanding blue whale watch

This trip encountered more blue whales, at least 12 different whales, close to shore than I have ever witnessed The captain did a particulary good job of getting close good looks of several selected whales. One whale showed us a fluke up dive every time it went on a deep dive. I saw more blues in Santa Barbara Channel about 4 years ago but that was much further out from shore and a much longer whale watch.

My extended family gathered for my birthday. We decided to go on the whale watching trip as a group activity -- 12 of us. Maybe we were lucky; but we saw seven whale flukes and countless porpoises, even baby ones, all around our boat.

Our captain was eloquent in what he told us about all the animals and their behavior, which was of enormous help in understanding what we were seeing and knowing what to look for. I learned that there was a whole different world under our seas.

It was truly and experience we will all remember for a lifetime.

The boat was nice and the crew was excellent. We did not catch many fish(3) but it was worth the money. We will be going again. We went on the Sunday afternoon 1/2 day as one child is free with each adult paying.

We decided to try out this trip based on the high number of recent whale sightings and the good reveiws. We had an AWESOME time! The captian was wonderful and even took us out looking for a pod of Orca's that had recently been sighted. We were able to find them and saw them blow their spouts but they never resurfaced. That was ok though because we headed back in and were able to see the most wonderful Blue Whales. We sat for a long time and watched a pair of them surface, dive down and surface again. They were so close to the boat you could almost touch them! My son is visually impaired and can't see things at a distance but was so excited that he could see the whales. It was a really neat experience and something I would definitely recommend! We plan to go again :)
