Plenty of dolphins.... but no whales! However, we were offered a ticket for another try, but unfortunately, couldn't make that date. We thought that was very fair!

Nice tour and friendly crew. PA system didn't work well so we couldn't hear much narrative. No whales this trip but Captain did find nice pod of dolphins and extended trip to view. I think average tourist would enjoy more narrative including coastline points of interest when things are slow.

Ticketing was easy, the boat was comfortable, the crew courteous and professional. We did not, however see anything but birds and other boats during the entire trip. Therefore everyone received their ticket back for use at another time, anytime. We plan to try again next year.

Whales & dolphins! You've got to see them!

Our family has been vacationing at the beach for many years but this was the first time during the whale migration. Our group of 7, ages 13 to 70 all had special moments on this trip. We saw several whales and experienced one breaching. An unexpected highlight was traveling with a large dolphin pod which appeared to be feeding. Our captain had observed the pod on our way to view the whales and made sure we got up close and saw them on the way back.

Every member of the crew that we met wished us a good morning and made us feel very welcome; smiles all around. The captain and crew were very professional and the boat was very clean and well maintained. As we were first in line we got to go to the bow of the boat which was one of the best places to watch the sea life. Also it was one of the more windy places to be so we were happy to have brought hooded sweatshirts and jackets.

On another note, parking was very close and convienent and we were taken care of very well at the ticket desk.

I would have no reservation about recommending Dana Wharf for a whale watching tour.

The captain told us this was not like going to Seaworld so we may or may no see a whale. We eere lucky because we saw 5 whales and followed them at a respectable distance so as not to scare them. The captain also gave us information as to the life of whales.

False Killer Whales!!!!!!

Nothing "false" about these whales! We were surrounded by dozens of Pseudorcas - the first time I have seen them and I have been a keen whalewatcher for over 40 years! The boat captain realized what an amazing opportunity this was, and he stayed with these animals for a good long time.

Intelligent, comprehensive commentary was much too loud coming out of the speaker on the top deck, abrasive. We saw whales, dolphins, seals, sunshine, ocean and the coastline. Except for the too loud; was a great afternoon..

We are from Washington state....when you go fishing there. You can get. Something you can eat. ....and they don,t

Drop the hook ten minutes. From the dock over a kelp bed...

I was really let down after driving three hours. To get there and spending a.hundread and twenty bucks i wouldn,t reommend this to anybody ..we live in a. RV park and a lot of folks ask about the trip ...i don ,t think you will be hearinh from them

Whales, whales ~~ everywhere whales!

I never saw so many whales in all my life ~~ all at one time. Wow. They were called False Killer Whales and hardly ever seen here at the coastline of Dana Point. Literally hundreds of them.....at least that's what it seemed like. It didn't matter where you looked, there they were, not just one or two, but four, five, eight, ten, swimming together alongside the boat, in front and in back, swimming in unison everywhere! I even saw one "fluke" out of the water. It was fantastic. We had a couple with us from Kitali, Kenya, Africa and they were awe struck. Thank you, Captain Dave.

Great outing for grandparents or parents to share with their children. Great hamburgers on board and a great crew. So helpful to the children. And there was a fishing instruction class on board before departure. Advise you to book on line and arrive early. This seems to be a very popular adventure.
