I have been on two whale watching tours with Dana Point Whale Watching tours. I saw whales and many other kinds of mammals and fish both times. The crews were very knowledgeable about the animal and the area. The boat was clean and looked well maintained. I had a wonderful times on each tour. I have already recommend DPWW to my friends.

The Whales didn't get the memo. They were nowhere to be seen. Cpt. Todd made the "hunt" very enjoyable . Looking forward to our next adventure.

Love the Whales

We saw two species of whale. 1 Fin Whale. 2 blue whales. Common Dolphins.

The Fin Whale popped up approx 30 feet away 3 different times shortly after we left the harbor. Fin whales are the second largest whales averaging 70 feet and 80 tons.

We saw the common dolphins in pods of 20 - 30 several times on our way to see and from the blue whales.

The blue whale is the largest animal ever known to live on earth, averaging 100 feet and 200 tons. We were given the greatest blue whale show ever. The blue whales popped up many times as close as approx 20 feet away. We saw a spectacular diving show with the tail-fluke waving to us twice. Better than Sea World.

This is my third time on Dana Wharf Whale Watching. I recommend this tour to everyone.

We had a group of friends from Palms Springs visiting our Dana Point home (We split time between DP and PS). Everyone anticipated the whale watching experience and they were not disappointed. There were 7 whale sightings. Of course, the weather was perfect, which helped make the day perfect. This was our 2nd exceptional whale watching experience. The captain and crew were friendly and extremely knowledgeable about whales and sea life in general.. Overall the experience was outstanding and we will be recommending the trip to friends. Thank you.

Must be an advanced fisherman.

This trip is not worth the money. You must be an experienced fisherman to catch anything off these boats. I purchased tickets for myself, my son, and my niece and nephew. Our group did not catch one single fish. The poles they rented us were incapable of casting, and you absolutely had to have a pole that you could cast. I had asked several times when I was inquiring about the trip if I needed to upgrade my poles and I was told no. The boat went maybe 100 yards off the shore and that is were we fished from, I would have been far better off renting poles and going to the beach to fish. This was an entire waste of money.

Great for locals and visitors!

Our family from NYC came for a visit and chose to go whale watching over a trip to Sea World. We were all thrilled! We had an incredible time! The captain and crew were teriffic and really engaging. Not only did we all learn a lot, we were lucky enough to observe Blue Whales (up-close) and Common Dolphins in their natural environment. Captivating. Seriously.

The crew was tracking several whales at the same time and extended our cruise by at least 15 minutes (at no charge) so we could all observe a bit longer. I would definitely do it again and highly recommend to locals and visitors.

Search for a Blue Whale

A most enjoyable two, plus hours cruising and searching rewarded all aboard to witness two pods and Gray going North and a single Gray heading south. I saw in the papers that a Blue Whale was spotted several days before and was in hohpes to get a rare sight. Regardless, It was a most enjoyable day.

There was a long wait before the boat returned from an earlier trip and it wold have been kind if someone would keep the passengers informed as to the arrival time expected. We assumed boadring at 11:30, but the ship did not arrive in port until noon.

We enjoyed our experience with this tour group even though we saw no whales. We had a great experience with the dolphins and the feeding birds. The crew was helpful, without intruding.
