Great day with many Dolphins
Mon, Sep 22, 14   12:00 PM Smile0425 Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We had a wonderful time on the very nice catamaran. We saw a large pod of common dolphins that "stampeded" many times for us- it gave me goosebumps it was so moving! Then we saw a small pod of bottlenose dolphins that rode in the front of the boat just like you've seen on the movies. The staff was helpful and friendly. Would definately go again and hopefully see whales next time!

Great activity except for an equipment malfunction

About an hour into the boat ride my wife was sitting on a raised portion of the boat was sliding off to touch the deck...she is 5' so her legs were a couple of inches from touching the deck. As she slid off a piece of the ship that was tied to this "box area" came loose and she went with it onto the deck, bruised and pretty shaken up. A deck hand came over and secured the portion that came loose and asked her if she was OK, she said I think so. I was with her at this point. We went down in the galley to purchase a drink and told the bartender what had happened and he was pretty excited to go fix it but as soon as we told him it had been secured he lost interest,,,didn't even ask if she was ok. No customer service or concerns to the right persons I guess.

While we were not lucky enough to see a whale, we did see hundreds, if not thousands of dolphin. They swam along with the boat and jumped out of the water. The captain and crew were knowledgeable and friendly. The views if the coast line were worth the cost of the cruise alone. I would definitely recommend this tour for everyone.

This was a bucket-list for us to have a chance to see whales. I got to see the back and tail of a blue whale, plus a ton of dolphins! I could have watched those for hours. You may want to stay outside on the boat since the captain did not mention what side of the boat to look out on. We lucked out and the whale was on our side.

It was nice we did see 1 blue whale even tho you cannot get very close to even see. All our 2 hours were spent on just seeing the one whale (which we were happy to see), but no time was left to see any dolphins or sea lions. We had 3 grandchildren with us plus our grown children for a birthday celebration day. It could have been made a little more exciting with seeing different things...too much time spent on waiting for the whale to surface again...little children would have enjoyed the dolphins & sea lions too...a little disappointing

These guys know what they are doing really very well. I traveled from Oregon on Sept 7th and took this cruise to watch Blue Whales with a few other friends. We had a great look at the Blue Whale! And saw thousands of Dolphins swimming alongside the cruise and "by the wind sailors". The guides are very helpful and eagerly answer to all the questions you may have and more. They also talked of several interesting facts about the animals we saw. We had a "whale" of a time indeed!

We went out on the 6:30 am trip. To our surprise, this trip had 5 professional deep sea fishing instructors from "Owner" hooks. They gave two fishing classes on board as we got underway. When we were on the fishing beds, these Guys gave awesome advise, tips, and tricks everything, bait size, baiting techniques, casting, even reeling in the "big one"!!!

We didn't see a blue whale, but did see a blow from a distance. Witnessed many bottlenose and short-beaked common dolphins with the help of an awesome cetacean naturalist, David Beeninga Great time!!

Spectacular

As if bragging rights to seeing the blue whale in all its glory (or at least about 40 percent of it as it submerged and emerged from a deep dive) weren't enough, we were treated to a totally unprompted, enthusiastic show put up by the hundreds of dolphins racing our boat! What a treat for adults and kids alike...and so much better than paying exorbitant Seaworld ticket prices. There is nothing like seeing the animals wild and free, and oh so happy in the deep blue ocean where they belong. Our captain was determined to make the whale watching happen, even after we sighted one very briefly and it dived back in. We kept looking, and patiently waiting (in the meanwhile being treated to the amazing dolphins), and then received the ultimate reward: the blue whale. Absolutely amazing.

We saw it all!

Our hope for this trip was to spend some time on the water and maybe catch a glimpse of a dolphin or two. Wow! We saw, quite possibly, a hundred dolphins splashing and playing around. On top of that, we saw several whales and one even breached, giving us the spectacular fin shot. I couldn't believe it! It was a great trip, and the crew did a fantastic job. Highly, highly recommended.

I would highly recommend this tour if you're in Dana Point! The crew was friendly and knowledgeable, the boat was beautiful, and we saw plenty of ocean life on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon.
