We all had a great experience. The boat was well kept and very clean. The staff was friendly and the captain was giving us updates as to the locations of the sea life and also told us lots of great facts. We saw tons of bottle nose Dolphins swim with our boat and a blue whale. The experience was magical.

We had a lot of whale sightings and I had never seen whales that close before. It was really nice that the boat offered snacks and champagne in recognition of Valentine's Day.

An amazing family adventure we will always remember! I wish I could upload a couple photos, we saw so much sea life and I learned a lot of new facts about whales and dolphins. There was so much whale and dolphin activity on our trip, we felt so lucky!! We will sail again with you. My 5th & 4th graders think October is the best month because we were so lucky with what we saw, looks like we have a new October tradition in our family!!

Wonderful and Amazing

The staff and crew were informative and friendly. The catamaran was the perfect boat to enjoy the scenery and watch for any kind of wildlife. We didn't get to see a whale, but our captain found a large pod of dolphins. The dolphins had a blast racing the boat and coming up to swim along side and under the front of the boat. The viewing deck on the bow was perfect for picture taking and for small children to safely get up close and personal. Then after trying hard to find us something else, the captain took us to see a group of sea lions resting on a buoy. The entire 2-hour tour was relaxing and great fun and went by way too fast. Highly recommend the company for the employees and price as well as a wonderful way to enjoy the coast.

Blue Whales not best seen from a Boat
Tue, Sep 6, 11   5:00 PM sannis Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
While the boat ride was pleasent and the crew very good and the Tuesday 50% off deal is great, trying to see Blue Whales from a boat is not the best. No fault to the crew, Blue Whales basically stay below the surface and when they come up it is just for a little while and all you can see is a small part of their hump where the spout is. They do not breach like the other whales and if you see their tail consider yourself extremely lucky. Simply put, if you really want to see a Blue Whale get in a small sightseeing plane or helicopter that will take you out for approx $125/pp and you will be able to see the whole whale from the air.

The pods of dolphins that you usually see are the highlight of the trip. Glad I went and experienced it but also glad I only paid 50% of regular price. Next time I take to the air!

Our captain was very informative and enthusiastic. You could tell he truly cared about the ocean and it's inhabitants. Moved the boat the minuted he could tell the mother whale was uncomfortable with our presence, unlike a few other boats that kept after her. A wonderful experience! Will for sure return for another trip.

We saw blue whales - it was great! We enjoyed the time on the ocean and were thrilled to get to see whales. We really were empressed - when we learned from a friend at the Catalina Island Marine Institute that many of the instructors there had never seen a blue whale - much less three in one day. They were empressed. Just a day on the ocean enjoying the sun is worth it!

Loved the cruise this past saturday. The captain spotted 3 grey whales right away and we were able to follow them for one hour and a half. I wished the boat got closer to them so we could get a better view up close. Overall a great time!

We had friends visiting us in San Clemente from the mid-west and we thought that a good outing with them would be a whale watch cruise. We enjoyed the cruise just as much as our friends did. The captain and crew were friendly but professional. They wanted us to have a good time and see some sea life. The weather was gorgeous, the sea was glassy and we saw several different groups of dolphins and a whale! The time passed quickly and before we knew it the 2 hours were over. We will be returning.

We had visited Southern California before and never spotted any whales. We decided to take the Dana Wharf Whale Watching tour. The Captain and crew were very informed about whales and dolphins and not only gave tips on spotting whales and dolphins but also shared factual information in an interesting way. On the trip we saw several Grey Whales, Sea Lions, and a large group of Common Dolphins. The Captain cruised slowly and turned the boat frequently allowing all passengers to get a good view and take photographs. We took the 2 p.m. cruise after the morning fog lifted. That worked well for visibility. After the cruise, I was able to spot more whales from the shore using the tips I had learned on the cruise. We would definitely go again.

A beautiful day of blue whales close by and dophins swimming under and around the boat. Friendly and helpful crew. The large catamarian much more fun than a big boat.

In addition to the beauty of the ocean and the ocean mammals, the captain and his commentary were impressive and entertaining. His knowledge of the mammals and the sea is extraordinary. Our little group highly recommends this experience and Dana Wharf Whale Watching.
