Best idea I've found out about in a long time....

AJ did a wonderful job. Her puns are wicked. I was a very hot day yet we all survived well and my sister and brother-in-law and I were still able to walk more than another mile to their hotel. I saw the write-up in the Chronicle -- timely happenstance.

We really enjoyed our comedy walking tour "The Whole Shebang". We did this on our second day of five in San Francisco, and it was a great way to get an idea of areas other than Fishermans's Wharf that we might want to explore further. We learned so much interesting history about San Francisco and the tour was a ton of fun. We certainly used our new-found navigational skills to plan nights out for the balance of our time and hope to come back to see more of San Francisco. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get a great overview of the city and it's history.

Both of us really enjoyed the tour - AJ was enthusiastic, informative, and fun. Plus she made sure everyone got individual attention. We got a lot out of it and subsequently visited some recommended spots. She was awesome and this was worthwhile. We'd highly recommend it! Thanks from both Ginger & Doug

We had a group of locals and internationals in town for a team meeting, and we thought this tour would be the best way to see SF and get some activity in as well-- and we were right!

I've personally done some other walking tours via Zerve in other cities, and this one lived up to the high standards set by those others-- the tour company was very helpful in coordinating, answering questions, and doing some customization for us (accomodating one member in a motorized scooter, ending the tour near our dinner destination, etc).

The tour guide was great-- full of energy, funny, engaging. Good combination of corny jokes and local knowledge!

I highly recommend this tour!

Good General Overview of SF

We arrived at the waiting area by walking up what seemed to be the biggest hill in San Fran, a great warm-up to start the tour :). Guide was organized and informative. Covered Nob Hill, touched on Union Square, spent most of the time (it seemed) in Chinatown, ended in North Beach (getting a cab in this area was not as easy as we thought). Great photo opportunities. Liked the fact that the guide wore a speaker instead f having to wear headsets. Overall good general tour of the areas above and we were able to get the lay of the land. Do this at the beginning of the trip to familiarize yourself with these areas of the city.

our family- 3 adults, 2 kids (15 & almost 12), took this tour in mid-July, 2010. we are not a physically fit group, by any stretch, but found the walking to be very tolerable and not too strenuous, at all. the way the tour was planned (Nob Hill to China Town to North Beach) is laid out in a way that i think we went up just 1 small hill on the tour- which is quite a feat (pun intended), considering SF is an 80% uphill city!

our tour guide was entertaining, informative and polite. she was very personable and gave recommendations on sites to see and establishments to visit. great sense of humor.

she gave a great tour- educating us on the "founding fathers" of SF in Nob Hill, giving a behind the scenes look at areas of China Town (not just the fringe, touristy part), and a good look at the Italian neighborhood of North Beach.

all in all, a great tour- not too strenuous (as some reviews had warned), not too much "adult" humor (as some reviews had warned), but very informative and one of the highlights of our week-long vacation in SF. Excellent!
