Midtown is the second largest business district in the city of Atlanta and the home of The Georgia Institute of Technology.  The area is known for its fabulous cuisine, cultural attractions, education, architecture and Southern charm.  Midtown attracts about six million hungry visitors annually.  Our tours are great for tourists and locals alike.  Join us on a fabulous foodie adventure!  Tours fill quickly, so book your spot today.
Featured Restaurants:
  • La Tagliatella: A European-based Italian Midtown eatery, with high quality cuisine in a relaxed distinctive atmosphere, featuring a center-stage pizza kitchen.  Prepare to experience the best pizza in Midtown.
  • Takorea: In an explosion of cultural cuisine, Takorea blends the best of Korean and Mexican street food in an eclectic Midtown hacienda. There you will experience new flavors, where “East meets Mex.”  Takorea was featured on Food Network, and you’ll taste why!
  • Café Agora: In ancient Greece, the Agora was the city’s central spot or “gathering place.”  At Midtown’s Café Agora, you will find that same warm and inviting space, where locals enjoy Turkish, Greek and Mediterranean cuisines, blended to delight your taste buds.
  • MuLan: A trendy Chinese restaurant, featuring splendid gourmet seafood.  It’s beautifully enclaved in a renovated Victorian house offering the most creative and authentic Chinese food in Midtown.
  • Empire Street South: Featuring the food of four-time James Beard Award Foundation nominee, and TV celebrity, Chef Hugh Acheson, expect a modern approach to southern cuisine at Empire Street South.  The restaurant emphasizes the beautiful fresh foods of this region, therefore you will find authentic and elegant southern food at Empire State South.
Featured sites along the tour:
  • Atlanta Botanical Gardens: Renowned plant collections, beautiful displays, and spectacular exhibitions make the Atlanta Botanical Garden the loveliest place in town to visit in every season. It is an urban oasis in Midtown.
  • The Alliance Theatre has served as Atlanta's foremost theater.  From its inaugural presentation of King Arthur, to its Broadway-bound premiere production of The Color Purple, the Alliance has consistently advanced the art of theatre.
  • Learn the history of the majestic Fox Theatre, home of Mighty Mo', the largest working Moller theatre organ in the world, as well as a Men's Lounge, featuring the original furniture chosen by the wife of movie-mogul William Fox.
  • Trace the footsteps of Margaret Mitchell and discover the birthplace of her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, “Gone with the Wind.” This two-acre campus in Midtown Atlanta features tours of the apartment where Margaret Mitchell wrote her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.
So come along with us on an Atlanta Food Daze walking tour. Let us dazzle with all that Atlanta has to offer!

Meeting Location

Midtown (Atlanta, GA) (Exact meeting location details will be provided immediately upon purchase of tickets.)

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance. Tours often sell out so we suggest purchasing your tickets early to guarantee your desired tour day. You can buy your tickets either online or by phone with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
What about taking children or adolescents on the tour?
While children are welcome on the tour, please keep in mind that tours are 3 hours long and we walk approximately 1½ miles. Parents, who know their children best, should assess whether a 3 hour walking food tour is appropriate for their own child’s attention span and stamina. Any child who will not be participating in tastings is welcome to attend for free and does not need a ticket.
What about inclement weather?
Tours will run rain or shine. We ask that you check the weather forecast and dress accordingly if inclement weather is predicted.
How much walking and standing is involved?
The tour covers approximately 1½ miles over a 3 hour period. The tour is conducted at a relaxed pace and stops frequently. We still recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, as we will be on our feet most of the time.
What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies? Are there vegetarian options on the tour?
Please let us know if anyone in your party has a dietary restriction or food allergy when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance, we will work to accommodate your needs to the best of our ability. Please note that there may be some tastings on the tour that can be difficult to replace and that we cannot guarantee substitutions for all tastings.
How much food is served?
We generally stop at 3-5 locations. Enough food is served to amount to a satisfying meal for most participants.
Are there any beverages included?
Water is offered throughout the tour, and you are welcome to bring a bottle of water with you. There may be one non-alcoholic beverage tasting on the tour. In addition, you are welcome to purchase other alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages along the way. Just be sure to bring a valid government issued ID if you wish to purchase alcohol. Please note that we do have a schedule to keep, so any purchases made should not interrupt the tour's ability to stay on schedule.
When is the best time to take the tour?
We generally recommend taking the tour early during your stay in town to allow enough time to revisit some of your favorite stops later during your trip.
Do we only walk around and sample food?
This tour not only showcases the delicacies our city has to offer but will also give you the insider's scoop on local life! Learn about the history, architecture and culture of a neighborhood while tasting delicious specialties from some of the most popular, authentic and unique establishments in town.
Are bathrooms available along the tour route?
Restrooms will be available throughout the tour.
Is the tour wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Unfortunately, we do not recommend the tours for those with wheelchairs or strollers. There may be narrow sidewalks, small spaces in some of the shops as well as a few stairs that we will use to enter the restaurants.
Are cameras allowed?
Yes, cameras are permitted and we encourage taking photos!
Do your tours have anything to offer a local?
Absolutely! While you may be familiar with our route and some of the stops, you will have the opportunity to try new foods at the tasting locations and learn more about the establishments themselves. Also, being a local, you have the unique opportunity to re-visit the eateries we feature on the tour and any other recommendations we point out at your leisure! Additionally, this tour is an excellent way to entertain out-of-town guests, celebrate a special occasion or encourage professional team building.
Where does the tour finish?
The tour ends at Empire Street South, just a block or a minute's walk away from the meeting location.
Is parking available near the meeting location?
Yes, specific parking details will be included in the meeting location directions after purchasing tickets.
Does the tour guide accept gratuities?
Gratuities are not included in the ticket price. While not required, gratuities are accepted and always appreciated by the tour guides.
Are tours only offered in English?
Yes, at the moment our tours are only offered in English. If you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour, please contact us by clicking “Contact FoodDaze” to the left of the page.
Can I shop during the tour?
We do some limited shopping on the tour. Please note that we do have to stick to our schedule though.
Are dogs/pets allowed on the tour?
Since we will be entering various food establishments, and as a courtesy to the other guests on the tour, all pets, with the exception of trained service dogs, are prohibited on the tour.
Is smoking allowed on the tour?
Smoking is not allowed on any portion of the tour.
Are gift certificates available?
