Great Guide and Wonderful Food

Darrel Blackburn quickly learned our names and made us feel like old friends. He was entertaining and enthusiastic about the history of the Meatpacking District and the individual places we visited for our tastings. Even the rain didn't dampen our spirits! I will highly recommend this tour to family and friends visiting NYC and will take another food tour with this company on my next visit.

Great food and great humor

This tour would have been worth the price even without the food. Our guide, Curt is a stand up comedian, and had everyone in the group laughing for 3 hours, at the same time he shared info. about each of the food stops, and even gave some great cooking tips. We had people from 13 - 75 on the tour, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The food was great too, everything from cupcakes to cheese to beef tartar. My advice would be come hungry and pace yourself.

Daryl was a fantastic guide. Very personable, a great wealth of knowledge and the perfect amount of entertainment

A follow up email on all the establishments and food tastings would be wonderful. Thanks so much and will tour again.

I cannot say enough about Darryl and our walking food tour of Chelsea Market!!! This was by far the best thing we did on our trip to NYC. Darryl is super entertaining, hilarious and gave wonderful historical info of the area. It is clear that he is beloved among the merchants, and he has a passion for all things food and NY. The tour itself exceeded out expectations in every way. The food was varied, interesting, plentiful and so enjoyable. I am culinary trained, work at a winery in CA, and I loved every minute and every mouthful! I did NOT fee like a tourist at all which is important to me. My friend who visits NY often to see her children said it was the best tour she has ever taken in NY! Darryl even recommended the perfect restaurant for after the tour drinks and appetizers. I'm just sad that I didn't book other tours and did not have time to explore more neighborhoods with Foods of NY! Ah well, next time! Don't wait, book a tour with this company now!

It was one of the best food tours I have been on. I have done them in three other cities and this one was the best.

Terrific Tour

Our guide, Curt, was terrific - he had endless energy and lots of information about food and the city, with some gossip and verbal recipes thrown in for good measure.

He was fantastic at remembering everyone's name, too - don't know how he did it, but it worked.

It was a great tour, especially the hotel roof it ended up on at the end - we stayed there awhile afterward for a drink, and it was lovely and cool on a very hot day in the city.

The only negative is that Curt was not aware that I'm veggie.

When we were deciding which tour to book (this will be our third FONY tour), the person I spoke with said that, even though it was the meatpacking tour, they would arrange for some veggie alternatives for me.

Curt was able to do that after I mentioned it, but it would have been more considerate for the shops if they'd known ahead of time.

Other than that, like the previous tours, it was informative, the perfect length, with a great guide and plenty of food to sample.

Our guide, Curt, was extremely entertaining and informative. The amount of food you receive on this tour is definitely worth the price of the tour. We received a variety of different foods and the time flew quickly. I would highly recommend this tour.

We have taken several food tours in different cities and this was certainly in my opinion the best one! Curt was extremely witty and informative and really made the time fly. Highly recommend this tour to all. Great way to explore an unfamiliar neighbourhood as well

I am local but I had some international guest and found this tour to be an excellent way to entertain and educate them. Our guide, Darryl, was excellent. Very informative and so engaging. Couldn't have done more for us. The Chelsea market is a wonderful place to enjoy food, especially if you are foodie like me! The area is very hip and full of energy. I would highly recommend it to anyone, a local or out-of-towner.
