This is the third tour my sister and I have taken. We took the other two tours because we loved the first one so much. On the second and third tour, we were accompanied by friends who loved the tours just as much as we did. The tour guides were terrific. They were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The guides gave us the history of the areas visited and information about the places we stopped for food. And the food was delicious. The tour guides also gave us information about the restaurants in the area. All in all, very interesting. We got to see areas of New York we might never have know about.

This is our second food tour with Foods of New York. (We've also done the Greenwich Village tour about 4 yrs. ago.) It was fantastic! Our tour guide, Kurt, was wonderful--personable, funny, knowledgeable--the perfect "host." There were about 16 people in our group, and within minutes, he had memorized all our names, introduced us to each other, and continued to address us all by name throughout the tour. As a former teacher, I was quite impressed. The food was all delicious and plentiful. The ad doesn't lie--you will not need to eat lunch afterward. For anyone concerned about the weather, the Chelsea Market part of the tour, about 2 hours, is indoors. For us, that was perfect because it was raining, but by the time we got outside to walk the Meatpacking District, the rain had stopped. I enthusiastically recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed

The tour guide was very cordial and knowledgeable and even addressed all 14 of us by name. The food and information provided by the tour guide made for an extraordinary use of the 3 hours devoted to this event.

From red velvet cupcake to pasta with oxtail marinara sauce, the Chelsea Market/Meat Packing Tour was a delightful experience. Our host, Bob, was enthusiastic, charming and most knowledgeable about the history of the market, the area and the High Line. We feel like we have a connection with the neighborhood and a working knowledge of the shops, people and activities in this exciting part of New York. We will definitely will come back to eat and buy in the area and will look forward to taking other food tours. This was a highlight of our trip from Texas.

Cannot say enough good about Bob, our guide. charming, witty, tremendously knowledgeable. Would follow him anywhere....LOL. Tour was interesting and I surely will return to Chelsea Marketplace. I had

Curt as a guide some years ago.....where he is hysterically funny and fun.....Bob is just all around, a wonderful tour guide. My brother and I thoroughly enjoyed him.

Our guide, Kurt, knew information about all of the places that we visited and included little stories which made everything all the more interesting and fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to try foods from the Chelsea Market. We even saw Mario Batali who was in his restaurant having a photo shoot.

Excellent Glimpse into Chelsea

3 adult women on this tour whose knowledge of Chelsea is from the FOODNETWORK. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and continually shared insights and tidbits that could NEVER be learned just touring on our own. This tour involves lots of tastes, sights, and pretty rigorous walk. It was much more strenuous than the Greenwich Village tour we took 3 years ago. I recommend any of the Walking Taste tours after having this second great experience!

Valuable to learn the 4 Ws for a major producting portion of NYC, how it fell into disuse and how it was rescued (DelTouche) because there was a basis for both a market & a sustainable profit contribution that would eventual increase the use and change of an entire neighborhood; ...One with an increasing demand from a greater segment of it citizens. Experience holds all the applications of recycling, green applications, cut-carbon-foot-print, live/work in same place, hold on to historical buildings, save worthy design standards (architectural, meat market, baking, railway) while allowing it to thrive as an attractive re-addition to the whole body which remains and advances the unique world-class place that only is found in NYC.
