An excellent way to spend three hours in NY

A great experience. Learned a lot of history and certainly enjoyed all the food most especially the Manhattan clam chowder at The Lobster Place. We started off with a big cupcake and we both feel that the smaller one would be better.

This was a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon--exploring New York from a whole new angle and tasting great food for 3 hours. The whole group enjoyed the experience immensely. Bob Gelber, our tour guide, was terrific, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. I recommend the tour highly.

history of area, great food and tour guide

Our tour guide was interesting and knew all the history of the area. The Chelsea Market building was wonderfully restored and had great shops and a diversity of foods. One young lady in the group had a birthday and the Italian restaurant provided a small dessert with sparkler and we all sang. What a great way to see the real NY, sample the ethnic foods and have fun. Really, a must-do activity for the curious visitor!!

This is our second food tour, and although we enjoyed the first Greenwich Village tour, this one was even better. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable and interesting to listen to. The tasting experiences were varied and tasty. We went back to the market after to revisit many of the places we had been introduced to.

Our tour guide, Kurt, was wonderful - enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. The food we had along the way was very enjoyable. Our group was seven people - four from New Jersey and three from England. Our English friends loved it. I'd recommend this tour to anyone.

Fun with Darryl in Chelsea Markets

We are two Aussies and two Canadians who were travelling in New York to celebrate the new year together. On our last trip to NYC we loved the Greenwich Village tour with "Foods of New York Tours" and wanted to take our Canadian friends on something similar, hence this one. We had great fun and interesting foods with Darryl on the walking tour through the markets and in the Meat Packing District. Whilst the lobster bisque was a favourite at The Lobster Place, the tastings were all excellent. What a great way to get to know the Chelsea Markets and the district and some history of the area. We highly recommend this tour
