Great way to learn about New York

This is the second of their food tours I have done and have found both to be an interesting way to learn about the history and culture as well as taste the foods of different neighborhoods of New York. The Chelsea/Meat Packing tour was excellent and I would highly recommend it.

Our expectations were exceeded. Dianna was great!

We will definitely consider other tours. We thought we might have enjoyed rearranging the food so that it follows more of the traditional meal, i.e. appetizers, soup/salad, entree, dessert. Otherwise, we wouldn't change a thing. Dianna knew the area and kept us moving. We loved learning about an area of the city that has made a great turnaround.

This is a little difficult to write as we truly did enjoy the tour. The only downside was that we felt like intruders at times. I know the spaces were tight and the crowds substantial - however, we have been on many tours that faced similar constraints and never felt this way on any of them. Example - at one point we gathered in front of the MLB elevators and it was impossible to get out of the way as the elevator patrons tried to exit. We received numerous eye rolls and hostile glances (and not in just this location). The gal who led the tour was knowledgeable and I am certain is a lovely person - but we did learn in Marimoto (hope I spelled the name of restaurant correctly) that she can project with a voice at SEVERAL octaves lower than she typically spoke. Her loud speaking voice was a distraction as I constantly observed non tour members looking at her with what I could only interpret as disdain. Once we were outside on the street it was fine.

Overall we did enjoy the tour, but for this reason, I might not recommend this tour as our friends would certainly be even more conscious of the issues stated above.

My husband and I loved this fun way to explore the Chelsea and Meatpacking district of NYC. Our tour guide, Kurt, was very informative and quite energetic. He made the walking and eating tour very special. The Chelsea Market is a beautiful renovated historical building which houses many innovative food shops. The food tour is a great way to explore the city with other visitors and enjoy new foods.

Not Great

I have been on all of the food tours in New York City and on some more than once. This is the first time that I did the Chelsea Market Meat Packing District Tour and I would rate it the least satisfactory. There just is not enough, not enough to see, to hear about or different and interesting things to eat. The tour leader did a yeomans job of trying to make it interesting but it felt like he was stretching. The others in my party had also been on all of the other food tours and we all voted this one the least worthy. Try any of the other tours and I can guarantee a great time but I'd skip this one.

We had a terrific time! Didn't realize most of the tour would be inside in one building but that turned out to be a plus since the weather was rainy. Our guide, Daryl, was an actor with a flair who made all of his stories interesting and catchy. The whole experience was well worthwhile. Just don't plan on eating for several hours afterwards.

Tour guide was upbeat and entertaining, tastes were good and seeing the shops great - liked the walk in the Highland district. The tour covers a lot and goes quickly - best to find time to go back and re-explore. I'm not into sweet so some of the tasting didn't thrill me but the overview worked well.

It was very interesting, our guide was awesome, remembered all our names. and talk to each one as if he knew us for years. The place is great and the places that gave us good did an awesome job. From Soup, cupcakes,

Italian food, we were able to make a sandwich. Chocolate, and macaroni dish. We were full by the end of the tour. He helped us get on our way also. Very very good tour. I would advise it to my girls next year. and I will

try another one of your tours. Greenich Village.
