Our tour guide, Kurt, was excellent. He was very informative, provided us with

interesting background information, and kept each one of us actively involved.

He knew each one of us by name. We loved his humor.

The food samples were delicious and the servings were just enough to entice

the palate. Thanks for the water bottle.

It was more than we expected and would highly recommend it to others. It was truly

an enjoyable, entertaining, and informative tour.

Our tour guide, Kurt, was fabulous right from the start! We had a good-sized group, but he remembered all our names immediately. We enjoyed every stop & tasted wonderful things ranging from the everything cookie, to shrimp & blackbean soup, to an Italian sampler, etc. The tour extended out into the district where we went into 2 restaurants, Morimoto & Del Posto as well as the rooftop bar at the Hotel Gansevoort. After the tour ended (where did the 3 hours go??), many of us went back to make purchases from the places we visited. What fun!

Our guide explained the history of the building, the concept of the new market place and a bit about how each business started.

The variety of food businesses was good, the food samples were sized properly.

Our guide showed us the progress being made developing the meat packing district and ended at the roof top of a hotel in the district that showed us the area.

Strongly recommend this as part of a visit to New York City.

Guide was both entertaining and knowledgeable. We all learned a lot and enjoyed the tour. Had already taken the Greenwich Village tour, hoping there is another for us to enjoy together.

This is the 2nd Foods of NY tour I have taken and plan to take the rest of the tours offered. It has opened up parts of the city I have not ventured to in the past. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and he was very funny. A great time was had by all!! Thanks for such an enjoyable day.

Fun - But outdoors first

I know it's hard oudoors...the guide almost needs a microphone due to the traffic - but...I think an earlier start (i.e. 10:30) starting with approximately 1 hour outdoors ending up at the Chelsa Market would have worked better.

Bythe time we got outside it was hot and people seemed tired.

We took the Greenwich Village tour last July and had a fantastic time with a fabulous tour guide, Cindy. So you can imagine how thrilled we were when our tour guide arrived and who should it be but Cindy! We knew we were in for a great time and we were not disappointed. You can keep the museums, monuments, etc and give us these terrific food and culture tours! I would like to add that I agree with one of the other reviewers (donnalley) that it might be nice to start at 10:30 outside and move inside later especially in high summer. I realize that this may not be possible since the crowds are probably larger later. However, if at all possible I think it would be nice to reverse the order.
