We enjoyed the food samples. But we particularly enjoyed the excellent historical background of the Chelsea and Meatpacking area of the city by our enthusastic and knowledgable guide.

Bob was our guide. He resided in lower Manhattan most of his life and knew the area exceptiionally well. He provided details with dates and the significant names from the beginning of Chelsea Market to today throughout his presentation. Bob was very friendly, outgoing and clearly answered all of the tour members' questions.

Bob does other types of tours in NYC and I plan to return and request him for some of these tours as well.

We travel to NYC at least once a year and have never explored this area of the city. What fun! We learned a lot. Bob. our guide, was knowledgeable and very enjoyable to be with. And, as your description states, we most certainly did not need lunch afterwards! We have already recommended this tour to our friends.

Bob, our guide, was friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. Chelsea Market, the High Line park and the meatpacking district were all very interesting. The 6 tastings were varied and delicious and definitely enough for lunch. We highly recommend this tour to everyone.

This tour is fantastic. I have heard about Chelsea Marketplace but never knew what it actually was about. The history of the building, the building itself, the shops - wow. We samples everything from soup to desserts. The meatpacking district is very interesting as well, seeing the transition from the meatpacking plants to the quaint shops and yummy restaurants. This is our second tour provided by FoodTours, and we are planning our third for April, 2011. Do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed!

What an absolutely fantastic way to spend an afternoon in New York!!! The Chelsea Market tour was a highlight of a fun weekend in the city. Our tour guide, Curt, was so knowledgeable and entertaining as well. He memorized all sixteen participant's names and referred to all of us by name frequently. It was a way to keep you engaged in what he was saying, as well as making you feel that he was interested in your personal enjoyment of the tour. There was so much good food to sample and enough history and background information without making you feel that it was a history lesson. We sampled a great variety of foods and we all went back to the market after the tour to shop since we were so impressed by the samples we had tasted. We are definitely planning to take the Greenwich Village tour on our next trip which we hope will become an annual event!
