Our guide Kurt was funny, knowledgeable and gave us a terrific presentation. One review I read before the tour said that not enough food was provided - that was certainly not an issue with our group.

If anything, it was a little too generous, but it was all too good to resist.

The information about the building and the meat packing district was fascinating, and all the stops were great.

I would heartily recommend this tour - did your Greenwich Village tour last year, but the food was better in Chelsea.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour through the Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking District. Our guide was very entertaining, and knowledgeable. We had samples to enjoy along the way and enough venues to keep the tour interesting.

This was an excellent tour and the food was outstanding - our tour guide, Bob was great, extremely knowledgeable about the area and very sensitive to the tour members. Would recommend to my friends - have already done so.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She guided us around with interesting facts about the Chelsea market and the vendors that were there. We got to see two Iron Chef restaurants which was quite a treat and got to taste new foods at the Chelsea Market. A great time was had by my husband and myself.

Our tour guide, Kurt or Curt ??, was the BEST -- very knowledgeable, entertaining and enthusiastic about every tour stop. He had unbelievable capability of remembering each guest's name; this made each person feel part of the tour group.

The food tastings were very good and ample for lunch. I was very satisfied with the quantity of food.

I would recommend this food tasting tour to be included in one's visit agenda. Don't wait to the last minute to make reservations.

Enjoyed the guide and the tour. I would like a little more in the way of historical information. Also, although it is implied that lunch will not be "necessary" due to the amount of food tasted during the tour, that is not altogether accurate. I certainly did not look for a full course meal, but by the same token, the bare minimum given in a couple of places emphasized more (although cleverly combined), that this was also an advertising tour, and diminished somewhat the appearance of it being an historical one, and left us looking for a place to eat when the tour was done. As a matter of convenience, I would also like the tour to finish where it began, since many participants were very interested in purchasing some of the items that the merchants were selling, and it was necessary to walk back to the market upon completion of the tour. Although the dialog and descriptions of things is somewhat "scripted," all of the guides should have the same information to share first, and then any embellishments and humor that they add is welcome. My criticism is merely constructive, since I enjoyed the tour and the company. Thanks for a nice day with my adult children who also enjoyed the "birthday gift tour."

Mixed thoughts......

If you have a chance to visit Chelsea Market, please do, but you could do it on your own. I believe each group takes a chance with its guide, and ours was too intense. She kind of "pushed us around" instead of giving us a relaxing 3 hour history lesson as our guide did last season when we did the Greenwich Village and SoHo tour. The guide makes or breaks it as far as I'm concerned.

All the shops in the market could be seen independently. Most give tastings anyway, so you wouldn't be missing out on the food.

We spent 2 hrs. in the market which was overkill. Once we got outside it was more interesting, but again we were micromanaged by our guide. The two stops out of the market were interesting and the food at Macelleria (?) was very good. They even gave us water and let us sit down with our food. Our group liked it so much we went back for supper.

The Chelsea Mkt. tour should include 1 hr. max in the market, traveling at a more leisurely pace, and then more on the streets of NYC which is not as easy to do on your own.

Fun, Informative, Good Food

Cindy Keiter was fantastic. She made the three hours, which flew by, fun, informative and like a family getting together for some food and laughs. We (the four of us) were really surprised at how much we liked doing the tour and plan on doing the Sushi Tour and Brooklyn Bridge Tour on our next visit to NYC. We live in Boston and come to the city at least twice a year. Of course we will want to be in Cindy's group.

Thanks for a really fun time.
