Great Way to Spend an Afternoon

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of the Chelsea Market and Meatpacking District. Although I have traveled from California to Manhattan several times, I had never set foot in this district. I had no idea there was so much to see! Our tour guide, Todd, couldn't have been more considerate and knowledgeable. We learned about the history of the area and its plans for the future. We tasted incredible food as many of the vendors in the market are renowned. Our food adventures ranged from cookies to lobster bisque and everything in between. The samples were generous and very tasty. After leaving the market, we stepped inside Morimoto and later the Buddha Bar, both restaurants having the most incredible decor. We also passed by high end designer boutiques such as Stella McCartney. Loved, loved, loved this tour. I definitely plan to sign up for another food tour when I come back in June.

I was with a friend and this was the only activity she really enjoyed of the 4 days we spent in New York. Our guide was friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, patient and understanding. What more could you ask? All of the food sampled was excellent, and it was interesting to learn the history of the area and to find out what will be happening in the neighborhood.

the food was wonderful..but..we would not have needed a morsel to make this tour a huge success..the guide was knowlegedable and entertaining..and in tune to all his guest's needs..We took the Greenwich Village tour the last time we visited NYC and my friend was hesitant to take another tasting tour..but I reminded her how much we enjoyed that and we went ahead and did the Chelsea..oh my..what a fun day that was..thankyou so much..I hope you add more tours we would be more than happy to take each and every tour you host. We took a few more tours while we were there last week, and they were so lame it was a total waste of not only money, but our precious time. I am lousy with names, but my buddy said our tour's name was Daryll ..I thought it was Eric..but, no doubt you know who it was and it appeared that the group that preceded us was enjoying their tour as much..EXCELLENT..how I wish you had tours of the Museums...the Met..Central Park..chinatown,soho whatever..we would be thrilled to take any tours you offered..looking forward to our next trip to NY once my feet recover. thanks again..Pam Berumen...

This tour was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so glad that I took it. The guide was excellent and so informative. The tasting was so much fun and I had no idea that the Chelsea Market had so much to offer. I highly advise taking the tour. My granddaughter was with me and she is 18. She enjoyed the tour as much as I did and was never bored.

Bob was very knowledgable about history of the area and particularly recent changes in the neighborhood. The variety of food samplings was a diverse lunch.

If you're a "foody" this is a must. In 3 hours with an entertaining guide, you taste your way through the funkily rennovated Chelsea Market and learn about the history of the meatpacking district.

We are four women from Valley Forge PA who were spending an overnite NYC. The tour was a fun way to spend and afternoon in NYC. The Chelsea market was very interesting and we enjoyed tasting all of the food. When we took the outside part of the tour in the meat packing district that was very informative and our guide provided a lot of background information that was fascinating. We actually saw a truck unloading the meat on to the hooks. There are many upscale boutiques opening in the area and we also went in a couple of the new restaurants.

Very informative about history and merchandise available at the market. Our guide, Bob was EXCELLENT - he had many details to provide about the place, welcomed questions, and made our tasting activities entertaining. We wanted to go back and get some of the things we tried to take home. We plan to make Chelsea Market a place to go each time that we come to NYC because of this tour. We also plan to try your other tours when we return to NYC.

Eleven ladies and gentlemen, many of us very old friends who have travelled extensively together , met on a rather overcast and chilly winter day to visit the Chelsea Market. One couple had previously been on the tour, but agreed to do it again. Three of us are New Yorkers who simply love to learn as much as we can about the city of our birth. The rest Jerseyites who, although not always willing to admit it, love New York almost as much. To say we were pleased is just not enough. Each little tasting was excellent and soon we were saying we could not eat another crumb. Still there was more to eat and to learn and we just kept going. Now about Kurt, our tour guide. He was fun and funny, kept us totally amused and engaged. He made sure we were always comfortable and genuinely seemed interested in our reaction to the food, the building and all the wonderful little pieces of trivia about the Market in general. He was completely familiar with the area and answered all questions. In short, the Chelsea Market and Kurt turned our gray day into a great one. Thanks. Diane Ketchell

P.S. Most of us have taken the Village tour as well. We will be happy to recommend these tours.
