We were a group of ladies on a Culinary Tour to New York........The range of foods and restaurants, along with the cultural highlights of the tour were perfect! It was a nice change from our regular itinerary of cooking classes! A Taste For Travel, LLC, Portland Oregon

We loved it!

The Chelsea Market is fascinating in a lot of ways and Cindy really let us know what they were. The food was fabulous and more than enough for lunch. The history was terrific, too. And Cindy herself was a lot of fun. A great choice for a rainy day, since most of the walk was indoors.

The tour was very informative, interesting and fun. The foods we tasted were delicious. Our guide Darrell was exceptional and very efficient, too. The only complaint is that there was much too much food! And it was so good we couldn't say no.

We visited a couple of restaurants that were not open for business, and were so impressed that decided to have dinner later in one of them, Morimoto--thank you for that! We also stopped for a drink at another, Son Cubano. And as a New Yorker who had never been to Chelsea Market, I am placing it on my list of things to do again and again. The out -of-towners in our group were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the tour.

Good job!!!

A chance to really look around a neighborhood
Thu, Sep 18, 08   12:30 PM judimpaul Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
It gave me an opportunity to look more in depth at what the neighborhood had to offer and how it looked. Usually I just walk through and enter only if I have information or the outside is alluring.

Sometimes I felt (and this could just be me) that it was a form of advertising for the places we stopped. The guide should make a disclaimer unless this is true.

The guide was interesting, nice, considerate and enthusiastic. The time constraint, however, was sometimes too evident.

My daughter lives in Brooklyn and her aunt and I joined her on this great tour. We learned more than we expected about the meatpacking district and Chelsea Market. We'd shopped at Chelsea Market before and eaten at restaurants in the area but were so interested in the fascinating history of this district. Our tour guide was amazing. He shared dates and details that made the history come alive. This is the best walking food tour we've been on in New York. My favorite, so far!
