Going through the Chelsea Market was fun and learning the history of the Market was really neat. Our Tour Guide Kurt (Curt) was the best. He made it extremely fun and he knew the market very well. He knew alot about food and he remembered all of our names throughout the hole experience. He really appeared to enjoy his job.

Fantastic Afternoon of New York History & Cuisine

Our food tasting tour of Chelsea Market (and the surrounding area) was fantastic. Our tour group was 15 people, and our guide, Curt, remembered everyone's name after a quick introduction. We spent a few minutes at a dozen locally owned restaurants and shops, and tasted some really delicious food. But it was really Curt, our guide, who made the tour fantastic. He was informative, funny, and had an amazing talent for keeping his audience engaged and entertained.

The amount of food in the tour is enough for lunch: a red velvet cupcake, a full cup of lobster bisque, a bread/meat/cheese platter, and a lunch serving of pasta were among the excellent cuisines we sampled.

I live in NYC, and have been to Chelsea Market many times, but I would highly recommend this tour for locals or tourists. I learned more about the area than I thought possible. And now I know a lot more great restaurants to recommend when friends come to town.

I really loved the tour! Like a said in the header, the tour was Like a Red Velvet Cupcake: you think it's going to be good, but in reality, it's even better! I loved the way how we experienced all these different foodgroups and the history behind everything! My tastbuds we're really really satisfied after the day, especially thanks to the Red Velvet cupcake! Please keep the cupcake in your tour! And I would also give a special shoutout to our tourguide Diana (I didn't remember her lastname unfortunately), you could see that she was really passionated about her job, the food and all the history behind it!

So thanks again for this lovely day, and when I'm ever back in New York, I'm going to try one of the other tours!

Kind Regards,

Kim Witpeerd

Barri was a great tour guide and we had a lot of fun. We enjoyed the original tour a bit better because we were able to walk around more of the neighborhood.

Our tour guide was Kurt and from the moment we met him, we knew we were in for a treat. He made this tour so much fun with all his jokes and the tour was very informative. We learned a lot about Chelsea Market and the area it's in and the food we got to sample was all very good. Everyone in our group said it was the highlight of our weekend. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to spend a great 3 hours in New York city.

Had Daryl as our tour guide, great tour, great food, and lots of great information. Allof the things we tried were wodnerful! My favorite was probably visiting the Lobster Place! Loved seeing all the fresh fish and the sushi being made. Loved the history about the building and the Meat Packing District. I would for sure do another tour with Foods of NY!!!!

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed this food/walking tour. She had already done one of their other tours and since I wanted to walk the Highline this tour fit in perfectly. Our guide Cindy was thoroughly entertaining: informative, funny, and also very thoughtful (she made sure to get the people in our group who had afternoon theatre tickets off in time and arranged to have a cab for them). The history of the market building was fascinating (old Nabisco factory) and the food tastings were varied and more than enough to fill you up over the span of the 3 hours. The lobster bisque at the seafood store was amazing as were the buttermilk biscuits with jam from Sara Beth's. There was a local New Yorker on our tour and she said she learned a lot that she didn't know before. I would highly recommend this tour.
