I think this was the highlight of my trip. It was a great way to taste a number of great foods, visit new places and learn a lot about the area and the cuisine. Kurt was so expressive and entertaining, but also thoughtful and caring. The amount and variety of foods was highly satisfying. I would highly recommend the experience and I will plan on taking another tasting tour the next time I visit.

I loved our tour guide, Kurt. He was funny and very knowledgeable about the food and area. He knew all of our names and made sure we were all included during the tour. Since I've returned home, I have told several of my friends how wonderful the tour was. I have also done the Greenwich tour a couple of years ago and loved it. It really is a great way to try some great food and to get to know the history of the area.

My sister and I did a total of three food tours while in New York as we are both total foodies and love all the options that NYC has to offer. Kurt was by far our favourite guide, as he really made an effort to get to know everyone in the group and made sure everyone felt included. My sister is a vegetarian and he made sure she had alternatives where needed without making a big deal about it. He was funny and engaging, and sprinkled a little NYC gossip into his talks about the area and the neighbourhood and its' history. I would highly recommend taking a tour with him. As for the food itself, it wasn't anything unusual per se, rather things you have had before taken to a higher level. (Fantastic cupcakes, delicious lobster bisque etc.) You won't be eating things you don't recognize, just better versions of things you've had before. We're adventurous so we wouldn't have minded eating new things, but this is not the tour for that. Having said that, the food is excellent. Really, really good. There is plenty to eat, but not so much that you feel ill afterwards. We also visited Del Posto (Mario Batali) and Morimoto's restaurants for those of you who are Food Network fans, but you do not eat there. That part of the tour for me~while I liked getting to see where these famous restaurants are, I would have liked even a tiny nibble there just to get a sense of the food and whet our appetites to try a meal there. Otherwise, it felt a little like a pitch (like, here it is, now come and eat a meal here later!) and I didn't love that. Overall the tour was really wonderful and we really enjoyed our time with Kurt especially. He is lovely and very engaging and will make sure you enjoy yourself. We got tickets through Goldstar and saved a few bucks which was nice. Give this one a try, you won't be disappointed!

Kurt was our guide , and an excellent guide he was too , funny , informative and obviously enjoyed his job , plenty on anecdotes pertinant to the tour and plenty of variety in the shops and restaurants we visited ..... And he fielded any questions , about the tour , NYC , Martha Stewart , anything .......... On our first day in America it got us up and moving and right into the groove , if you are reading this , jump on , we felt tuned into NYC instantly with this little adventure and are very glad we booked it , Tony and Julie from Leeds , UK .

We had Kurt as our tour guide and you can tell that he enjoys his work. No detail was spared and his humour in presenting each establishment was 2nd to none. I was also extremely impreseed with how he can memorize everyone's name in 10 seconds. Highly recommended.

Having done the Greenwich village tour on our last visit we had no hesitation booking a further tour to give us a more indepth insight of a part of NYC which we may never have visited alone. Cindy our tour guide was fantastic, very enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. The group size is just right and its great to get to meet people not only from different countries but fairly local people who come along as well. All the food tastings were delicious and its adequate to act as your lunch but if you are left feeling you need more then Chelsea market is the place to be, it will satisfy any palate (and stomach size!). All in all I would highly this tour and will definately be booking another when we next visit. Thank you Foods of New York!
