Enjoyable and Informative

Cindy our guide was very funny and she gave the whole group such inside information about Chelsea Market and its history. She added a New York Flair that was very enjoyable. This was my husband's first trip to my hometown, Cindy's information gave him insight about New York that he fell in love with. He enjoyed the food and just the freshness that the market provided. We wished we had more time to stay in Chelsea but we had an appointment to go to immediately after the tour was over. Next time we are going to bring an extra suitcase to lug home the treasures we found. It provided a great time and wonderful food to try. Thanks!

Wendy tried to be funny, unfortunately it was often at the expense of those of us in the crowd. Her comments were inappropriate at times and I would not recommend her. She was constantly nagging the group to get closer. It felt like she was herding sheep.

The food was good, but for the money, you could go to the Chelsea market and buy everything offered and more.

Do the Greenwich Village tour instead...

We were expecting this to be great after the wonderful Greenwich village tour. Chelsea Market is smaller than I expected, and we didn't really get much more out of the tour than what we viewed for ourselves when we arrived early. But definitely go on the Greenwich Village tour - great history, insight into the area and buildings and wonderful tastings!

My daugher-in-law and I were in the city for a "girl's" trip and enjoyed this tour very much. Curt, our tour guide was very informative and very entertaining. All of the stops provided us with great food and interesting New Yorkers to tell us about their products. We were lucky enough to meet Sarabeth on our tour and did go to one of her restaurants the next day. We also enjoyed the "walk-thru" of the B & B. I would highly recommend this tour.

Curt gave an informative tour of the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking District and with a great bit of humor. All that and great tastings! This tour was a wonderful way to learn the history of the neighborhoods as well as the buildings. We could have wandered around the Chelsea Market and had fun but never would have a clue about how it all happened.

We returned to some of the recommended restaurants for dinner and were not disappointed! Much better to see the place, learn about it and return to dine. If you are a foodie I highly recommend the tour. You won't be disappointed! PS--Don't eat before.

It was a pleasure to discover this gem of a tour in the city we've been to many, many times. Our guide was extremely informative and the shops and restaurants we visited very accomodating and welcoming. We have a new appreciation for a previously shunned area and will definately visit the area shops and restaurants again

Great way to spend 3 hours, lots of local history described in a lively informative manner. Our guide was very entertaining, knew his history of the district and was very comfortable in discussions. Tastings were excellent, A lot of different vendors all good quality. Good fun, good walk, good company.

We had a great time on the tour. Cindy was a fabulous tour guide with alot of knowledge of the area and New York history. We live in the tri state area and learned alot while having fun. The food is fabulous. I would recommend the tour to locals as well as people visiting the area.

informative but not very good ulitlization of time

our leader was informative but we felt there was too much time spent wandering back and forth through the chelsea market. In compaison to the Greenwich tour we had done previously, there was not the same variey of restaurant ideas, history, and architecture discussion involved. Maybe there just isn't as much to talk about in that area? we probably could have got the same amount of info in half the time. We enjoyed what we did experience and learn. Thank you.

My grown daughters and I have been to N.Y. many times and for this trip concluded to do more exploring - to learn about the history and culture of different Manhattan areas. This tour suited our intentions perfectly! For the first time we feel that we have a good grasp of the history/culture of Chelsea. Food tasting added a delicious & informative aspect to the already fascinating tour. Very reasonably priced and well worth the time... wished for more when it concluded. We'll do the Greenwich tour next time.
