we had a wonderful time on our tour of chelsea. cindy, our tour guide, was fabulous. she had great knowledge of the restaurants and shops we tasted at and gave us a lot of history about chelsea and the meatpacking district. she was very funny and made the tour so enjoyable. the food was delicious. i would highly recommend taking this tour and plan to try another neighborhood tour when back in nyc!

Don't leave NYC without taking this tour. It was top class...informative, entertaining, great food...definitely worth the money. Our tour guide, Bob, was stellar. We had so much fun and learned so much. It was one of the highlights of our trip to New York City!

Great history tour but only a fair food tour

Our tour guide, Diana, was very informative and entertaining. We learned alot about the history of the area. So as a history tour it was great, but as a food tour only so-so. Many of the samples were pretty meager - i.e., a small cucumber stick with salt on it, one caramel, one ounce of chocolate milk, etc. Why bother to stop for that?

The Chelsea Market/Meatpacking food tour was absolutely a hit!! Our tour guide, Curt was extremely knowledgeable, humorous, and very entertaining but the actual stores and food that we got to sample was just so amazing. Taking the tour and learning so much of it's history was very worthwhile. We are looking forward to booking another tour in a another area. I would recommend this tour in a heartbeat.

Curt Upton has to be about the best tour guide we have ever known in our years of traveling all over the world. The tour began in the bowels of the Chelsea/meatpacking section. Visually the sights and aromas wafting throughout the area is unparalleled. So before we even met Curt the stage was set. Curt quickly greeted each person, memorized our names and inquired a bit about each person. His knowledge of food and food preparation along with his magnetic personality, quick wit and humor and sensitivity to the needs of each guest was phenomenal. Throughout the huge food mall he seemed to literally know by name everyone who in kind responded to him. The large amount of food samples over the 3 1/2 hour tour more than added up to a full meal. Providing water bottles was a much appreciated touch. This is an experience not to be missed. And no, I am not Curt's mother nor have we ever met him before this tour.
