“Fantastic - can't wait to try their other tours!"

My wife and I recently attended the Chelsea Market Foods of NY Tour, and it was definitely a great time! I highly recommend this tour to people of all ages and backgrounds, and whether you are a native New Yorker or not, this tour will have something for everyone! Our tour guide Diana ("Diana the Banana", as she joked to us in the spirit of the food them) was lovely, very friendly, knowledgeable, and filled with lots of energy! The food tastings were all delicious, and quite substantial - not a "smidgen of this" or "half a bite of that", as I had experienced on other food tours in the U.S. The tour is not only about the food either, Diana had plenty of historical trivia and information on various other places within the meatpacking district, and the information was interesting and entertaining at the same time! You also get to walk through some prestigious restaurants owned by some of the top chefs in the world, and yes, we even spotted a Food Network Celebrity during our tour of Morimoto! I only wish there was more time to browse/shop during each pit stop, but with all of the different places that is covered in the tour, I can understand that Diana would want to keep us on a fairly tight schedule! Plus, although you visit a lot of different places and venues, all of them are within a few city blocks, so there is plenty of time to go back and visit these spots after the tour ends! If you are interested in food and/or the Meatpacking District of NYC, go ahead and buy your tickets for this tour - you won't be disappointed!

My mother and I had a wonderful time. The perfect thing to do with an out-of-town guest. Our guide, Curt, was fabulous. The tour was high-energy, hilarious, and personalized. I can't recommend this enough. And plenty of food!

In the past, I found visiting the Chelsea Market a bit overwhelming, but the tour was a great way to experience some of the best that the market has to offer. I also loved learning about the history of the building and the area! Overall, the tour was a great and unique way to spend the afternoon in the city!

Chelsea Food Tour with Children

This is my 3rd food tour. I've made it a point to do one every time I visit a city. I love the quality of information you receive from the tour guide. We had Bob. He is from NYC and is part of many organizations that promote NYC. I really enjoyed touring the Chelsea Market. It was filled with unique eateries and bake shops. We got to experience the taste of several speciality shops in the market (which is inside) and then headed to the high line ( which is really cool). Bob was full of knowledge about how this area evolved over the past few decades. My kids enjoyed the tour too (even though my daughter is a picky eater - she was willing to try the samples:)

This tour appealed to me because I hate the usual tourist scene. INstead of just seeing you were able to have an experience which is alot more memorable. I love food so this was a perfect way to spend 3 hours.

History seemed to take a front page to this tour.. Food was more of a secondary, but overall the tour was wonderful.

I can't recommend this tour stongly enough. It was fantastic to see a part of New York that was away from the main 'tourist traps' and still learn something of the history of the city.

Our guide had an enthusiasm for the city which was infectious. By the end, I was jealous that I didn't live in New York as I wanted to be able to come back again and again to the Chelsea Market.

Next time I'm in New York I will definitely be booking to do another tour with Foods of New York.
