This is our second food tour. I wasn't expecting the same because I thought it would be hard to beat last year's tour guide. Burt was an excellent guide, he was knowledgeable, and made it fun! Highly recommended.

Nice Food Tour

Really enjoyed the tour, and especially Bert our tour guide. We have taken all of the NYC Food tours, and personally the China Town tour was my least favorite. Had nothing to do with our guide, he was great! I just personally don't care for chinese dumplings or peking duck (two of the main courses)....but that's just me. I would recommend any of the NYC Food Tours. Great cultural experiences and a great way to see more of the city and visit places I would never venture out on my own to do.

My husband and myself were in NY for 6 days and I went on 8 tours in that time, the Chinatown tour was my favorite. Our tour guide, Bert was great. The tour had just the right mix of eating, walking and information about the area and the food we were tasting. I would enthusiastically recommend this tour with Bert of course he was the best!!

Fabulous Experience in Chinatown!

Our Chinatown food & cultural tour was great for a number of reasons. Bert, our guide, was well informed & familiar with Chinatown, quite funny in a natural manner, and engaging. We were a group of 7 women in our family ranging in age from 30 - 68, and we all loved the tour. We have been on all of the Foods of New York tours, and this one was the same quality, if not better than some of the others. We enjoyed sitting down at the restaurants to eat, and seeing a side of Chinatown that we had never seen before. Well done & we would all highly recommend this tour! Sheri

Our guide was called Burt and he was very good and the small group was nice and friendly. We learnt quite alot about the area and enjoyed tasting different foods in different restaurants, being told about how it was made and about the flavours etc too. We found the meeting place a bit tricky to find, maybe a map would help with the written instructions.

Delicious, informative and fun

A great host shares the sights and flavors of a fascinating neighborhood. Take the tour, try new flavors, find the places the locals recommend, hear about the back stories of the area. Not much walking, lots of sit down time so it works no matter what the weather. Where else could you taste pork belly, and learn about the underbelly of the neighborhood? Watch a chef carve Pekin duck for you, while learning that a chef could be killed on the spot, if the Emperor was dissatisfied with his food? If you take this tour, be sure to ask who would pay $1700.00 per pound for ginseng, and what would such a person do with it?

All these years buying "Chinese" food and I've apparently never really had it before !! A great tour and the food quality was great, and the food quantity was just right.

Bert is the Best!

Bert was also our guide on the Greenwich Village Food Tour months ago also. He is very informative about the neighborhoods and food that we are sampling, he made us feel as we were in the know. We had to rush out of the Chinatown tour so I was unable to give him my feedback on the food selection. Bert, if you are reading this; the final dessert stop of a custard tart is not a good representation of Chinatown and done so much better in most of Europe. A suggestion would be to hunt down a good sesame ball - everyone likes those. I wasn't a fan of the eggplant & rice stop....very average food. The dim sum and duck were perfect. Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon. Cheers, Gala Yayla

We are father and a 21 year old daughter, on her release-from-the-army trip (yes, we are from Israel…).

The ‘foods tour' was part of our one week stay in NYC, and turned out to be one of the most wonderful experiences we had.

It revealed for us the secretes of Chinatown alongside with the wonders of the Chinese food, in a way we never experienced before.

The group was just the right size, with plenty of wonderful and colorful people, the places we visited topped one another in atmosphere and (of course) their wonderful dishes, and finally – our guide – Rahim – who truly wrapped it all the best way possible.

Worth every penny, great fun, superb tour.
