Great Experience!

Our group consisted of myself, husband and two daughters ages 9 and 11. We opted for Chinatown tour because sounded interesting but also was the only tour available in the evening. We are so glad it worked out that way because we would have not thought of Chinatown as a tourist destination had we not joined tour.

Our experience was unforgettable and one we will share with others. The restaurants were all very nice, clean and delicious. The tour guide was the HIGHLIGHT of our tour. He was so knowledgeable, kind and professional. He took us into little shops and explained to us the details inside the shop as well as interesting history tidbits of Chinatown. Most importantly he made my daughters feel comfortable and showed them a great time.

This was a nice change from the "usual" New York tourist destinations and a MUST do for someone open to experiencing something outside the box.

Eye opening tour of Asian cuisine

A very worthwhile tour of the local Chinese culture and culinary landscape. Unlike other food tours that can easily entertain by presenting varied ethnic foods, this tour met the challenge of experiencing just one, yet was captivating in describing the complexity of what authentic Chinese food can offer. The neighborhood alone was a sensory experience. I wouldn't recommend for kids and young teens, but otherwise one of the most gratifying cultural experiences I've had in NYC.

My daughter and I went on the Gourmet Chinatown tour. The guide, Burt, was terrific. He was very detailed in his descriptions and seemed very knowledgeable about the area. And let's not forget the delicious food. We haven't ever eaten Peking duck before, and now we want more. You won't be disappointed with this tour.

I appreciated the intelligence and enthusiasm of our guide Bert. He provided many interesting tidbits about life in Chinatown past and present. I particularly enjoyed Columbus Square and the candy shop. All the meals were high quality and diverse. The pace was comfortable and again enhanced by a considerate guide. A birthday presentation was arranged for me in a delightful manner. Many thanks!

We really enjoyed Rahim. He was informative, warm, funny and genuine. The dim sum restaurant was our favorite. We got a chance to sample 6 different dim sum and dumplings. All were delicious. The Peking duck house was a little disappointing because we only got one course of the duck. Our least favorite was the Malaysian restaurant. We were supposed to go for dessert, but the dessert restaurant was not open.

We have taken several food tours in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I would have given the tour 5 stars, but it was a little pricey for the food.

We had a phenomenal time with our tour guide, Raheem, who showed us a whole other side of NYC we've never seen...and we've been coming to the city for years. The food and service were fantastic, and left us with a great appreciation for Chinese culture. Today was a great way to spend a few hours, enjoy incredible food and take in the sights of Chinatown. They even had a piece of birthday cake in celebration of my wife's special day waiting for us at our last stop. You can't beat that! Simply, a wonderful experience.

My husband, my two adolescent girls, and myself did this tour. Bert, who I understand is not the usual tour guide for Chinatown, did an amazing job. He was profoundly knowledgable and knew most of the employees at the restaurants we we visited. He was hallarious, incorporating stories about his family, amidst the interesting information provided. He was so amazing that we considered trying to see if we could fit in another one of his tours while in NY. I am a stay-at-home mom and we live in one income so expenses are a consideration for us. This was pricy, but worth EVERY penny!!! The food was so good - in fact, the best we had on the trip. My girls were anxious we would get just very small samples and go away hungry. Not the case -- we were stuffed. I want to hire Bert as my personal travel guide on my next trip!!!!

I was looking for a fun activity to do with my 16 and 19 year old boys in the city and we all loved every minute of our day. My boys are telling all their friends what a great day.
