Great food getting to know Greenwich Village

Our family of four, my husband, myself, and our two teenage sons took the Heart of the Village food tour on Jan 2. We loved the food and our guide, Susan, was most accommodating given the cold weather - trying to get us more time inside. We have stayed at Washington Square hotel in the village several times already. This tour enabled us to learn lots about the area and the services available to us when we are there next.

The food options were yummy and our tour guide was a blast. She was very detailed and always added a twist to every new stop with a personal story or fun fact. She was always smiling and willing to answer all of our questions. And once again the food was delicious...would definitely do the tour again and any of the other options offered for tours as well.

I decided to take my father (foodie and NY fan) as a Christmas present. We had the greatest time! Our tour guide, Diana, was very knowledgable and personable. It's a great way to experience the Village. You learn so much more than food, with a tour through Washington Square Park, and many anecdotes while moving from place to place. The food is absolutely delicious, and each tasting is very different from the last. My favorite day spent in the city so far. You only cover a few blocks, but you experience a lot.

Tour was awesome. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of history as well as many good places to eat. She also offered hot spots around Greenwich Village. I really enjoyed all the places we went to, all the meals were rally tasty.

A great choice for feeding and entertaining our group of 9, ages 12 - 60. Even the hubby, who works in NYC and avoids it when he doesn't have to be there, enjoyed himself. Our guide Susan clearly loves doing this, and made this slice of the Village come alive. Plenty of delicious food, interesting info, and relaxed pace. Half our group was local, half from California but familiar with the city, and we all got something new and fun out of it. And no eyerolls from the teens - wow! Highly recommend.

One of the only food tours where, as a vegetarian, I could participate without feeling like I was getting less of an experience! I loved it.

Fun for foodies and families away from tourists

Get away from the typical NYC tourist crowds for a food tour. It is the best way to enjoy some great tastings while learning tidbits of legends and history. This was my third tour, and I'll take more when I return to THE city.

My fiance and I absolutely loved our food tour. Our tour guide was so knowledgable and we learned so much information, more than just food knowledge. Which hey, there's nothing wrong with knowing what Indian food street vendor is the best. I loved learning about the parks, 5th avenue, where certain celebrities used to live, why streets are named a certain way, and exploring the one street that no one ever goes down because there's no outlet. By the end, we had so many pictures and we were completely full. One note about the food- EVERYTHING was good. There were things I liked better than others, but there wasn't anything I didn't like. The pizza and pasta in particular were the BEST pizza and pasta I've ever had (Joe's and Artichoke = my 2 fav all time pizza spots). Everything was excellent. OH also, the grilled cheese was great. Thank you for an amazing afternoon! My favorite thing we did in NY by far.

We did the Heart of the Village Food & Culture Tour led by Raheem--and had a fantastic time. It was a great blend of excellent food--with interesting facts and sights of the village. The food selections were diverse and interesting, more than enough to satisfy us for lunch--and we barely ate anything for dinner following the tour. We would absolutely return for another tour and to all of the restaurants that we had the chance to visit! Definitely a highlight of our trip to NYC.....

What a great experience! My youngest son and I did the tour together and absolutely loved it. Our guide, Raheem, was excellent. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We loved the food and the information we learned. I am ready to go back and eat in the neighborhood! I would highly recommend the tour to locals or tourists.
