Great Birthday gift

It was a little of everything! Great food and great history tour. Our guide made it very personal. The tour was actually a birthday gift because we were going on my birthday. Our tour guide surprised us all by doing a desert with a flaming candle at the Cuban restaurant. we appreciated the extra time she spent to make it special. Loved everything!

A tour with an international flair

To sum up the tour, it was chock full of historical information from the slave trade to the civil war to the mafia to 60s music history to current real estate prices, and combined with yummy international food tastings! You will learn a lot and eat a lot while strolling through this gorgeous area of Greenwich Village. This is my second tour this year, and I will be going back for another come fall.

Heart of the village tour equals fabulous food!

The heart of the village food tour was our second tour with foods of New York. Barri is a wonderful guy with lots of interesting bits of information about the village. All of the foods were delicious and filling. The only possible negative is we walked quite a bit outside in the heat took it's toll on one of the older members in the group. I give a special shout out to Monte of Monte's trattoria who provided us with a lovely meeting place and a fabulous Bolognese tasting. Although not on the tasting list yet included in one of the seven tastings, the grilled cheese and brisket Panini was out of this world fantastic. There were three of us in this group including my husband who is a meat and potatoes guy, our daughter who only eats chicken and fish, and myself who eats almost everything. We were all happy with the selections.

My fiance and I had THE BEST TIME on our tour yesterday with our guide, Susan. She gave us so much information on the history of the area as we walked between stops and was very entertaining! The food at each stop was excellent. We tried places that we never would've walked into on our own time, so it was well worth the trip to try new foods. My favorite location was Cuba because of the unique atmosphere, but my favorite food was the Indian restaurant. They were all great in their own way. I would highly recommend this tour to others.

Great experience!

I would definitely do a food tour again! This was great! Our guide (Raheem) was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and fun! We ate a ton (definitely no need for lunch afterwards)! My only suggestion is that the tour incorporate more walking between stops. The first part of the tour was within one square block and had too many stops in a row. It was too much food to eat! We then walked a bit which helped to digest and we were able to eat in the rest of the tour. Overall, I really enjoyed it! I would love to see more of the city with stops every so often.

Perfect Experience!

Loved this Foods of New York Tour! The perfect amount of food (enough to get full), the perfect opportunity to learn about the history of the neighborhood (thanks Barri) and the perfect date! For two foodies, one historian and one adventurist, it was the perfect experience. Such a great time and such a great experience to "stop and enjoy the roses" and the neighborhood, and the culture, and the food, and everything! I would definitely recommend this tour!
