Fun way to learn about food and village

Our tour was a lot of fun! We walked for almost 3 hours, but you wouldn't have ever known it. It was neat, as a history buff, to learn about places famous people lived and how people from the past shaped that particular establishment or neighborhood. Our tour guide, Diana, also pointed out places movies were filmed.

The amount of food they give on the tour is incredible! I expected little bites from each place, but that was not the case. We had hearty portions at each place we visited. I was so full that I ate a very light dinner. Diana also gave you history behind the food as well. She really knew her stuff!

I have already recommended the tour to a friend and her mother that are going to NYC in November.

My group of 12 ladies loved the tour! Our guide was entertaining, enthusiastic, extremely knowledgable, and helpful after the tour was over. The food was delicious, plentiful and fresh. This is the second food your my group has taken with you and we will definitely be making reservations again!

My daughter and I took the Heart of the Village tour with Diana. She was great!! The tour was wonderful and the food was fabulous! We chose this tour in particular because of the variety of foods....it included Italian, Mexican and Indian goodies! The tour description noting that lunch is not needed after the tour is more than accurate...we were stuffed! Definitely will be doing another one!!

My two daughters, one granddaughter and I enjoyed the tour immensely. Our guide Barri (or is it Bari?) was funny, knowledgeable, and gracious. The food samples were delicious and the information about the people who "formed" the Village was fascinating. We loved going through the park and hearing more stories. While all the food was good, the salted caramel and chocolate macarones were outstanding! My daughter bought a box to take to her husband...but I know they never made it home!!

A 'must do' in New York

This tour my second experience with Food Tours of New York and it was as great as the first! This is one of the was the best ways to visit areas in New York. Our guide provided us with insight into the history of the East Village that was knowledgeable and witty. The food samples were very generous and delicious and the hospitality of all of the host restaurants was exceptional. The people of the Village were most generous in sharing their home with us, often stopping to add their perspectives to our guide's commentary. It was a great afternoon. I will share my experience with my friends and will continue to book one of these tours every time I visit New York.
