A Great Overview of an Historic District

Come hungry - very hungry. The food stops were varied, interesting and all good. From Italian pasta to an Indian wrap to a fabulous French sweet. The guide, Susan, was very knowledgable and encouraged questions. We were given an overview of the history of the heart of the Village. We learned about the architecture of the area as well as about some of the famous celebrities who frequented the clubs and restaurants of the Village. Three hours was a long time but we got to sit during some of the food stops - which was a welcome respite from the heat. Two highlights were the Porto Rico Importing Co - a coffee store that had the largest variety of beans I have seen - and Sullivan Street tea & spice company which equaled Porto Rico in its tea offerings.

Wear comfortable walking shoes! Enjoy.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Lots of wonderful food, great tour guide (Diana) who gave us lots of history of the area, great stops, a booklet and coupons for later. It is a bit of walking - and it was a really hot day. The bottles of water they provide are a great touch. my only regret is running out of time to go back for a full meal at a later time.

My husband and I loved the Central Greenwich Village food tour. We have been on other food tours and this was by far the best bang for our buck. We stopped at several local stores on top of the restaurants. The tour guide was great and friendly. All in all a great way to spend the afternoon eating through the neighborhood. Will definitely go on another tour when in the city!

My 18 yr old daughter and I loved the central Greenwich food tour, our guide really knew the local area and was very enthusiastic. The food stops (8 in total) were varied, including such morsels of an Italian sandwich, indian wrap, pasta, pizza and Cuban food and cocktails. Loved this and would defiantly recommend to do near the start of your trip so you can go back and enjoy the cafes and restaurants again.

Susan was a wonderful guide -- very knowledgeable about Greenwich Village and went into just the right amount of detail. The food was delicious and the servings were more than generous. It was an excellent final event of our NYC visit.
