Foods of NY Tours are great for tourists

My husband and I recently visited NYC for the first time and we liked our first food tour so much we signed up for a second. I only wish I had trusted the reviews enough to sign up for two before we left (then we would have had more choices where to go on the second tour, as most were sold out the day before). Anyway, this tour was very insightful about the neighborhood and included great food tastings. The variety was just what we were looking for.

I would recommend this tour to anyone! Our tour guide, Diana, was so knowledgeable, not only about the restaurants and the food, but also local history and culture. The food was fabulous, I learned so much about the area, and she made sure everyone had fun. Loved it!

Could have picked better food experiences...

Barri, the tour guide, was friendly and knowledgeable. However, the food places that were picked were eh! Started out at a grilled cheese place. Grilled cheese? With all the great places in NY? We also went to an Italian sit-down restaurant and had the worst bolognese I have ever had. It was so salty, we could barely eat it. One of the stops was an Indian place where we had a lassi drink in a tiny cup. I don't consider this "food". There were 7 places in all and I probably wouldn't go back to any of them.

Absolutely loved this East Village Food and Culture tour. Susan was an amazing tour leader--knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Could not have asked for a better tour--totally enjoyable. The food was delicious and there was so much of it!! Great restaurant picks. Loved the variety of Cuban, Indian, Italian, and American. Susan really knew her way around the East Village. Well-rounded tour and I am recommending the tour to my friends in PA.

Susan was great!

We really enjoyed our walking / eating tour. The food was very good with generous portions -- more than enough for lunch. But Susan's commentary made it so much more. We learned about the village, it's history, the people, and NY traditions. Very worthwhile.

This is the second tour I've done. Ted was wonderful and told us a lot about the neighborhood. The food was delicious. Such a fun thing to do with friends or family or for a date.

The tour guide Diana was wonderful. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and made the history truly come to life. It was clear she was very passionate about her job and it was much appreciated. The food was sensational and extremely generous! My only grievance is that my party should have tipped her more because she so rightly deserved it!

Diana was enthusiastic and informative. The food was yummy and plentiful and the ending Macaron topped off the experience wonderfully. It was a little bite of heaven. I hope we win the photo contest and can go on more tours.

I booked this tour for our bridal party as a means to spend time together as a group before the madness of the wedding took hold completely (one last hurrah!). Our group does not often spend much time in this particular part of the City (even as locals) and found it quite enjoyable to take a tour. The tour guide we were assigned was Susan. Susan is quite knowledgeable regarding the shops and general area. We loved the examples of early architecture Susan pointed out and learning about the early history of the Village. I will note that Susan does focus heavily on the 1960s-1970s era. The tour does not particularly delve into contemporary events that have occurred in this area (1970-Present) which is unfortunate, however, we truthfully came for one reason--THE FOOD. Please let me assure you, THE FOOD IS AMAZING. It is unfortunate that our bride is lactose intolerant (and so I must note for our lactose intolerant friends that there is a considerable bit of cheese/dairy involved) however we all still had a great time and the sheer amount of food is MORE than enough for lunch (even without the dairy). From Indian to Cuban to French cuisine you will certainly enjoy the diversity of the samplings.
