When I booked this tour for myself and my 2 girlfriends I had no idea what to expect. We were visiting from Canada and of course wanted to take in as much as possible of the New York Experience. Well, this was certainly one of the best decisions we made. From the get go, Susan, our guide, was amazing! Not only was she incredibly informative on the food and the history behind each place that we visited, but her knowledge about the history of the village was so informative. She was engaging in her conversation and so animated. I felt as though I was walking the Village with a friend.

The food was diverse and delicious. The "tasters" were generous and so as a result we were all full rather fast. I suspect however, that this was not such a bad thing!

We all appreciated the little stops where one was able to sit down and enjoy a meal and perhaps a beverage. I think we all expected to be walking much more than we actually did, but this was a welcomed change to our tired legs from previous days.

We all agreed that it was an incredible experience, one that we would and have suggested to other travelers to New York City.

A very big thank you to Susan (my sister from Hungary!) We all wish you the best and thank you again for a great tour!

Kathleen, Carrie and Cinzia from Canada!

A Great Overview of an Historic District

Come hungry - very hungry. The food stops were varied, interesting and all good. From Italian pasta to an Indian wrap to a fabulous French sweet. The guide, Susan, was very knowledgable and encouraged questions. We were given an overview of the history of the heart of the Village. We learned about the architecture of the area as well as about some of the famous celebrities who frequented the clubs and restaurants of the Village. Three hours was a long time but we got to sit during some of the food stops - which was a welcome respite from the heat. Two highlights were the Porto Rico Importing Co - a coffee store that had the largest variety of beans I have seen - and Sullivan Street tea & spice company which equaled Porto Rico in its tea offerings.

Wear comfortable walking shoes! Enjoy.
