A fun, tasty and informative tour. Susan was a witty and knowledgeable guide. This was our 3rd trip to NYC and our 2nd food tour. When we return, we'd like to take the Chinatown tour.

Our guide Susan was very friendly, knowledgable and relaxing. We had a nice group of people on the tour and plenty of lovely good. Hearing the history from a native is totally the best way. We try and do a food tour in all our city breaks and this one didn't disappoint.

being super into food, i was a little wary of the whole idea. my mother did a chinatown food tour in philadelphia and it was terriblee: bad food, boring guide, you get the jist.

well, i was completely delighted. our guide, who grew up in the neighborhood, was very knowledgable about both the food history of the area and other historic and culinary fun facts. our group was only 6 people, and we made a good group. our guide told us that with groups this small things tend to go great, but if they don't they tend to flop. so just a little tidbit of info there. we also got to ask questions and chat with the other tour members, which would have been harder in a large group.

the food we tasted was delicious, varied, and with involved cooks and restaurateurs who came out to meet us and talk about their food/food product.

some of the places we stopped at: a couple legit italiian places, one boasting the best mortadella sandwich ever: fresh baked ciabatta bread holding high quality mortadella and gooey melted cheese. there was a pizza place specializing in artichoke dip pizza, also: delightful pork soft shell tacos, prickly pear margaritas, massive coffee store, indian egg wrap and mango lassi, oh man!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Food Tour!

The food tour was excellent. It was very informative to learn about the different types of food and historically how the different food venues came to the area. We also enjoyed the information about the architectural aspects which gave us a broader picture of the people who settled here.

The food itself was varied and novel, giving us a wonderful combination of flavors and cooking styles. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about the city and what it has to offer at a reasonable price. I have talked to several people who live in NYC and they definitely want to try it after hearing us rave about it.

Great way to see the local spots

I have visited NYC numerous times, but this was my first time doing a food tour. I really enjoyed it (and so did every one of the 6 in my group). We saw neat local spots and were told about some of the shops and houses that we would have otherwise walked right by. I would definitely do it again.

The only hesitation was that our tour guide did not seem to go out of the way to make it what the group wanted. She stuck to her speech and that was it. When we asked if she could inquire with the kitchen about ingredients, she said no. She also forgot two of our orders and wasn't really apologetic or even seemed to care when we asked to cancel them. I guess that just be the New Yorker in folks though ;)

I would definitely do it again, but with a different spot so I could see even more. When we told our local friends who live in the area where we were brought, they agreed that those were the top spots so you know it's authentic.

The guide was very informative and made sure we were together before she would continue her narrative to make sure we could hear her. Delicious food. It was just great. The only thing that would have been nice if there were a map we could safe as a souvenir to remind us where we had walked....

Diana was an amazing tour guide. She was knowledgable about the area and enthusiastic about sharing her info. The stops on the tour were incredible.i can not wait to go back and visit the restaraunts. I went by the Sullivan tea shop after the tour ended. Well worth the money and time. I cannot wait to do another tour next time I'm in NYC.
