Our tour guide, Mah??? Was excellent. The things he told us about the vicinity of the restaurants and the food preparation made the samples even more enjoyable. Our favorites were the pizza and Mexican. It was super that we were able to sit in air conditioning a few times. The atmosphere at Monty's was perfect. We did return to the tea shop to purchase two salt blocks which will be more than conversation pieces. Definitely recommend this tour.

The heart of the village food tour was a gift to myself my husband my brother and my sister-in-law from our parents. We had a wonderful time on the tour. It was a great way to spend the afternoon tasting delicious food, seeing and learning about different parts of the city, and spending time together. Our tour guide, Susan, was so knowledgeable and so personable we felt we could have talked to her all day. We will definitely book another NYC food tour again and Will bring our generous parents with us next time.

Susan was outstanding in providing food samples with great insight into the village culture. Two sit-down stops with wines/beer and mimosa availability made for an extra special food tour experience. Great spice store and coffee/tea store stops!

More than Greenwich Food--Greenwich History, Too

The Heart of the Village tour went way beyond our expectations! Not only were we treated to foods that we otherwise would not have tried (e.g., brigadeiros), our tour guide Susan was a wealth of knowledge about the history, architecture and culture of the heart of Greenwich Village. We were especially excited to see Café Wha and the bar where Jimmy Hendrix played. The food tastings were abundant--my only advice is not to eat anything beforehand so that you won't be stuffed. The empanadas (chicken and spinach) and maduros from Cuba were exceptional. The tour pricing was also great--we felt that we received a tremendous value for the price paid. We highly recommend the tour, and are anxious to try others!
