Tons of Fun

The tour guide was very dynamic supplying many historical details that romanticized the area awesomely. The food was incredible, loving the fuller portions rather than just tidbits (what I had expected). This tour was extremely enjoyable and I would love to try another tour and definitely reccommend this tour to my friends and family.

Perfect birthday gift for an out-and-about wife

My wife hates it when I buy her 'things' most times for holidays because most things she wants are either far too expensive for the both of us or she simply doesn't really 'love' most of the things I buy for her. Thankfully, this gift was quite different.

I knew my wife was a 'foodie' that typically loved watching FoodTV and cooking shows and the like. She also LOOOOVES trivia so history and 'culture' is always interesting to her. So when I told her of this walking food tour she was all in.

The tour guide was a knowledgable and enthusiastic woman that had lived in the Greenwich Village area for many years. She knew and genuinely loved the area and its history so the stories and explanations that she spoke of always caught your interest even if you weren't particularly interested in history to begin with. From references to recent and older movies, musicians, and celebs, all who were on the tour could relate.

Then, of course, there was the food. With an excellent selection for both meat eater and vegetarian, every where that we went BEGGED for my wife and I to return to at some point later. We'll definitely hold on the pamphlet and be sure to tell the restaurants that Foods of NY Tours sent us!

My family and I participated in this tour and we enjoyed it a lot. The food was fantastic and had a very interesting variety. The pizza and mortadella sandwich were our favourites. It was a very unique experience and I highly recommend it to who ever wish to go to New York.

Great Experience

I live in San Francisco and took the tour with a friend from Toronto. It was an excellent way to re-discover the Village and its history and tasting delicious food from a variety of countries added to the experience. The food samples were almost too generous. A taste of ice cream at the end would have been an added bonus.

We had been recommended to take this tour and I must say from the moment we met our tour guide -sorry I can't remember her name - but she could remember all our names and there were 14 of us!

We got a great insight into the village as it was and as it is today.

The food was amazing, but be warned don't have lunch beforehand! The tastings were not the normal tasting size portions! The size of the group was perfect. I would say to anybody it is a must do!

great tour with plenty to eat

We did the food tour as a group of two couples. Our guide, Barri, was awesome. She not only guided our tour to the scheduled stops for different food samples, but was able to give us some very interesting history about the area and also some of the famous people who live, or used to live in the area. This is information about the area which you would not otherwise obtain without such an informed guide. The food stops were great, you will not need to eat before or after the tour, the samples are generous and filling. All of the food stops had delicious food and friendly employees. Again, you will get plenty to eat during the tour!! All members of my group had a great time and learned lots about the area that we toured. We have done tours in other cities that were also very good and this one will also be highly recommended.

We enjoyed this tour immensely and already have recommended it to two of my colleagues who will be visiting New York in the next few months. The food was outstanding and our Tour Guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the area. I thought the cost was great value for what we were offered.
