Families with children be advised; area for adults

We had a group of 4 adults and 2 children (ages 7 & 11). We booked the tour to become more acquianted with Soho & Greenwich Village. We enjoyed tasting different cuisine and listening to the tour guide's antedoctes of the area. However, we regretted that the kids were exposed to some things they shouldn't have heard or seen. This tour might be better suited for adults only.

I cannot put into words how wonderful all of these Foods of New York tours are! We did the Original Greenwich Village tour a few years ago and followed it up with the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking tour last year. Both were amazing! We did the Central Village/SoHo tour this time and could not have been more pleased! While we still go back to old favs like Joe's Pizza, Rocco's, Milk and Cookies and Faicco's, we added some new stops from this tour to our growing list of "must eats" in the Village - Cuba (we went back for lunch the next day), Bella Vitae, Monte's and Aamchi Pao (fka Indian Bread Co) to name a few! If we lived in NYC, we would be in Raffetos, Joe's Dairy and Pino's on a weekly basis! Thanks again for a fabulous time! I have recommended these tours to anyone I know that is going to NYC!

I've taken other food tours and loved them. I wasn't as impressed with this one. There was less food tasting on this tour and a lot more history and walking to places that were not food orientated. I did leave with a good understanding of the area.

A Fresh Burst of Flavor, Culture and Fun!

This tour was outstanding! We happened to have a very interactive group where everyone mingled nicely and had a lot of laughs. That aside, the tour was phenomenal. I am a life long New Yorker so when friends and family come to town to visit I look for things I will enjoy also. I mean, how many times can you go to the top of the Empire State Building. This tour provided a rich history of the Village and great new dining spots I was unfamiliar with. There are great shops along the way as well. The three hours flew by and a great time was had by all!!!!

This is my fourth Foods of NY Tour and I was again very happy to have spent my afternoon eating a variety of unique and delicious goodies and learning all about the area from a pro. Susan, our tour guide knew everything there was to know about The Village having lived there most of her life. These tours are great and I highly recommend them to everyone!

We had done an similar tour in Chicago so we knew what to expect and had something to compare with. The Central Village/Soho tour had wonderful food, and a great guide, and we enjoyed everything that we ate and all the local information. We come to New York every couple of years, so we look forward to taking another tour the next time we're in town.

This was a great tour! I went on the Chelsea Market one a couple of years ago so knew what to expect but was still impressed. The whole tour was realxed but informative. The food was delicious and plentiful and the group was friendly - I was a lone Brit amongst a group of Americans! I now regularly recommend these tours to anyone holidaying in New York. It's a great way to get a different experience of the city.

Great, but lagged on a bit

This is my 3rd tour (I've also done Nolita and Original Village), so I obviously am a big fan of this company! But I did feel that this tour lagged on for a bit. It ran 1/2 hour over, which makes a big difference when the tour itself is already 3 hours. Also, this tour had less stops I believe than previous tours that I'd done, so it would be better if it wrapped up when it was supposed to - especially since many people doing these types of tours have other tourism plans and schedules to meet! With all that aside, I thought this tour was excellent. It was a little strange that we don't get an artichoke pizza slice at artichoke pizza, but I understand that they are too heavy to have in addition to all the other food we eat on the tour. Keep up the good work!
