I would definitely recommend this tour. Not only was the food tasting varied and (mostly) delicious, but we also got the area’s history and learned interesting trivia (Bob Dylan’s house, the club where Jimi Hendrix was “house band”, what former tenement apartments now cost to rent, etc).

The sauce Bolognese at Monte’s was the best I’ve ever had outside of northern Italy and I was delighted to be able to tell the chef so. I loved having dessert of ricotta cheesecake at the third stop (Bellavitae) and another dessert at the end (chocolate walnut tart at Once Upon a Tart). Seeing some of the local stores on the tour (where there was no tasting) just made me want to buy everything in sight, but, alas, there wasn’t enough time to shop.

Ideally, one would be able to choose the places to visit and the food to taste, but that would be impossible. Still, I would have liked to eat at a French restaurant, and stopped at a café to people watch.

Also enjoyable was when we sat to eat and were able to meet the others on the tour, including tourists from far-flung parts of the world.

Wonderful tour. Guide was very knowledgeable. Food was good at all stops. Learned a lot about the culture of the area. This is the 4th tour we have taken with you, so we must like them. It is a nice way to spend an afternoon in New York.

This was a great food and culture tour. The food selections were excellent! The guide was well versed in the history and culture of the SoHo Area and restaurants and the group was small enough to navigate the different venues. We would highly recommend it to visitors so they could become acquainted with the many wonderful offerings in the area. There was lots of food to sample and it was all delicious.

Tour guide was extremely knowledgable about the area and obviously had great pride and enthusiasm for the neigborhood. The food was so good that we went back there the following night to have dinner at one of the restaurants and then recommended it to friends who arrived several days later. I learned so much and would like to do another tour whenever I return to new york.

Our guide, Rahim, was knowledgeable and accommodating. He gave us information about the history and highlights of the places visited, included some of the famous people who had frequented these haunts. The food and rest stops were timely. The food was tasty and the background of the sites was fascinating.

What a great way to see SOHO! Tasting one's way through SOHO and learning about it's history is a great way to spend the afternoon. Our tour guide was knowledgeable with a sense of humor. Don't plan on lunch before and maybe...a late dinner would be advised.

Our tour leader was Raheem (spelling?). He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fun. I loved every stop, including the bathroom breaks. This was my first trip to New York and this tour was one of the top 3 highlights for me (Ellis Island and Rockefeller Center being the other 2). The tour was a great way to see the area and learn about the culture there.

Another Great Tour With NY Food tours

This is the third time we were wowed by Food Tours of NY. We are local NYC & NJ-ians who know the city and are thrilled to go on excursions with this company. Initially, a group of women friends joined Todd on a cloudy January day to discover hidden treasures in The Village. Next, we brought the guys with us to learn about Chelsea Market. Last week we went back for The Village and SoHo. We were given a recommendation for dinner after the tour which was fantastic. Listen, we are seniors who have grown up, worked in or have been entertained in NYC all of our lives and are all thrilled to join these tours. Everyone learns something every time. NY is an expensive and vast place-we love getting the low-down on the best that is out there. Kudos to Todd for selecting great places that are truly the best of old and new NYC. Can't wait to go to Chinatown and wish he was doing Arthur Avenue!! The blend of good food and NYC history are amazing. Come see NYC the right way!
