Great way to explore Greenwich Village

It was a fun tour for learning a little history of Greenwich Village and tasting a variety of food. The portions at each stop were larger than I've experienced on other food tours and there was almost too much food! I highly recommend this tour to New Yorkers and those who are visiting the city.

This is our second foods of New York tour and it looks like it will become a family tradition whenever we visit. We enjoy the history, pop culture tidbits, and architecture as much as the fantastic food. This time we did it right and went on the tour at the beginning of our vacation so we could come back to eat at our favorites. Rajim is a terrific tour guide. Taking the Heart of the Village tour gets you away from the typical jam-packed tourist spots and lets you experience the food and culture of the neighborhood. It is my personal must do in New York.

We had such a GREAT time with our guide Sue! Not only is the food AMAZING, but the history and information about the Village made us fall in love with this city. I've taken several Foods of NY tours and they are always a wonderful experience. I will take them every time I visit the city.

Whenever my wife and I travel we try to do a food tour as we find it a great way to learn about the area from locals and to try some unique restaurants that you would probably never stop at if you were driving/walking past. All of our tours have been great and this one was no exception. All of the stops were excellent, the food was fantastic and our tour guide, Susan, was very knowledgeable and great fun to spend the afternoon with. I would highly recommend you book the tour, you will be glad you did! PS, you can arrive hungry and you wont need to eat after the tour!

More than Greenwich Food--Greenwich History, Too
Thu, Jun 25  12:00 PM wendykkp Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
The Heart of the Village tour went way beyond our expectations! Not only were we treated to foods that we otherwise would not have tried (e.g., brigadeiros), our tour guide Susan was a wealth of knowledge about the history, architecture and culture of the heart of Greenwich Village. We were especially excited to see Café Wha and the bar where Jimmy Hendrix played. The food tastings were abundant--my only advice is not to eat anything beforehand so that you won't be stuffed. The empanadas (chicken and spinach) and maduros from Cuba were exceptional. The tour pricing was also great--we felt that we received a tremendous value for the price paid. We highly recommend the tour, and are anxious to try others!

My 16 yr old daughter and I had an marvellous experience in the village. The guide was super knowledgeable and really nice. The group we we with was great ( we were the only foreigners). Loved the variety of food types, the little stops in the tea shop, coffee shop and pasta making shop. The walk around the village and Washington park were a bonus. Thoroughly recommend.
