Heart of Village Tour

The food on the tour was great! It is a great value for the money and a very fun activity. The only negative was the tour guide. She was a bit harsh when we arrived when she learned that some of our party of 11 were going to be late (they ended up being 10 min late) and made a big thing about where where we sat / put out coats in the meeting place restaurant. We actualy started our tour at another place so not sure why we had to meet at one place and hand out water / napkins there vs just meeting at the actual fist stop and handing stuff out there. All in all, as I mentioned the food was good, the tour guide descriptions of the area was ok.

Not only was the food at 7 different restaurants exellent but the history of the neighborhood where the restaurants were located was very interesting!

I would recommend this tour to whoever enjoys food, likes to walk and enjoys the history of NY

Loved it! The pacing of the foods, the history, and conversation was on target! If you have concerns about the walking, don't worry. The different stops are nicely-spaced for all ages and appetites. We did not need dinner afterwards as many share. ... a May booking for the other side of the Village in the works :)

I think that Foods of NY does a great job of supplying native New Yorkers as tour guides for their tours. This is a walking tour and half of the time you'll be outside but if you take this tour like us, unsuspecting Californians, in the middle of February, expect to be exposed to the frigid bitter cold. That's about the only con for this tour. Otherwise well done and informative and very enjoyable.

i've taken several of the tours with Foods of New York and this was my least favorite. On the other tours, I felt like the establishments were carefully selected for their history; the anecdotes provided were insightful and humorous, the staff friendly and inviting and the tour flowed very well. didn't feel that same richness and flow on this tour. the staff did not interact with the food tour customers and something of the charm is lost in that. however, still enjoyable.

Very energetic guide which gave us a very informative tour about the area. The food tastes were plentiful and savory. Every time I am in the city I try to take one of your tours and I always recommend your company for the food tours. I am excited that you have added a cooking class and can't wait to take it. I just have to find the time to get to the city during the week. Keep doing what you are doing. Your company is the BEST at what you do.

Wowsers!

Portion Size - Surprisingly Large!

Guide - Susan was excellent, informative, and fun!

Tour Size - 18 (just right)

Places Visited - 9 I think (?) We ate at 7. Loved them all TBH.

We visited a few more in the area on our own after touor was over.

We talked ab out taking our kids, friends, and ourselves on another tour the next time we are in NYC

It was Snowy, rainy, and windy at times, but we still had a blast!

Fun day getting to know the village

Nice knowledgable guide.... Super friendly with enough humor without being cheesy.... Good stories about movies, history, pop culture of the area.... Couldn't believe the size of the samples- have done this with a different company and the samples were bite sized.... Great variety of food and I had picky adult children with me and they liked 90% of what we tasted so thats a huge win...took the tour to show them what a neighborhood in Manhattan would look like vs Times Square and for me to get more familiar with the area so I can go back and eat there... It accomplished both in a fun way where we learned a lot

This was my third tour with Foods of New York Tours and once again was so entertained and thoroughly enjoyed all of the food. Already deciding which tour to take next!
