Tour great - food NOT great

Susan was wonderful, enthusiastic, knowledgable, attentive. The food was .... terrible. Peanut butter sandwich?? A slice of sausage? This was a wonderful tour - but the 'food' part is misleading. Just let Susan lead the group and leave out the food.

Diana was thoroughly enjoyable: knowledgeable, entertaining, organized, friendly. I would recommend this tour to anyone, and I look forward to participating in other neighborhood tours soon.

A wonderful walking food and history adventure! Raheem, our tour guide, brought the trip fully alive by giving great historical descriptions and narratives about the area as we walked. Food sampling was varied and very tasty. My grown daughters and I would, of course, love to take another tour someday!

This was the 3rd tour we've taken with Foods of New York and, as with the other two, we have been very impressed with the selections of places visited and variety of foods offered. Our tour guide (Susan) was very knowledgeable about not only the eateries, local shops and night spots, but the history of the buildings and local lore. I would highly recommend any of these tours to visitors to New York as well as to "locals" who, like us, might not be aware of the area's history and all that is offered in the Village and Soho.

Great Gift

My brother and I sent our mother and his godmother as a Mother's Day present. It was a huge hit. Both women love trying new resturants and found the selections excellent. They told us that one place was better than the next. The best part was they learned history about New York that after 47 years living here they did not know.

They are even thinking of brining some friends on one of the tours when they arrive from out of state in September.

Highly recommend for tourists and locals!

our guide was very well informed and the tour was very well thought out.

We thought he was well mannered and we would take one of his tours again. Having lived in the metro area for a long time - this is a great way to reacquaint yourself with the area and the many changes.

He gave us many good choices for dining and we ate at Monte's and just loved it!

We would recommend this to all our friends.

What a great combination of neighborhood cultural/historical information and ethnic neighborhood food. Rahim, our guide, clearly knew the neighborhood and enthusiastically told personal and other stories. We were treated to food experiences that we would otherwise never have found. Take the tour at the beginning of your time in New York, because you find lots of places you will want to go back to for food and entertainment. We did, and we did!

Village History with Taste

It rained steadily for the entire 3.5-hour tour but our guide kept our interest and offered a strong distraction from the rain with his knowledge of the classic central West Village and its historic clubs, hotels, coffee shops and hangouts. We sampled eight types of food on welcome opportunities to go indoors, learning first-hand why the Village/Soho may be New York's most ethnically diverse neighborhood and why eating there is as much adventure as it is appetite arousal. The guide, incidentally, spoke to be heard above the street sounds, although he sometimes rattled off his stories a bit too speedily.
