Our wonderful tour guide, Susan, was chock full of fun facts about the heart of the Village! She made a point of talking with each smaller group within our large group to find out more about us. She was genuinely interested in hearing everyone's stories! And she introduced us to the most incredible pizza, yummy Indian street food, fantastic pasta bolognese, oatmeal cookie to die for, a delicious Mexican sampling and a finale of salted caramel macaron. ....all from restaurants we will definitely return to. Great day! PS....and since the tour we have watched Serpico and Godfather Part 2 to catch a glimpse of some of the places we visited!

We had a great afternoon with Diana our guide. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and full of funny tales. There's plenty food on the tour and it was a great insight into local places.

Great selection of restaurants and food - Italian, Indian, Cuban- and the desserts were to die for! I was oink-full by the end and grateful for the walking route and pauses to learn about the neighborhood. It was a small group which made it very comfortable and easy to maneuver. The guide was lively fun and easy interesting. A few ncredible vale for the price! I'd do it again - and again!

My husband and I had a great time on this tour. The food was excellent, but it was Rahim that made it spectacular! He was so knowledgable, funny, and interesting. I would definitely recommend this tour and recommend Rahim!

The Highlight of Our Visit!

Our "Heart of the Village Food and Culture Tour" was the best part of our long weekend in NYC (which included a performance of "The Lion King" and some great jazz music). The food was fabulous, from the spinach and artichoke pizza to the unda bhurji roll, every bite was delicious and unique. We enjoyed six different tastings, in six different establishments, (including sit-downs in Indian, Italian, and Mexican restaurants) each as diverse as the neighborhood itself.

I'm also pretty sure that the experience was elevated because of our tour guide, Rahim. He was knowledgable, humorous, friendly and totally in control of the group. He knew the history of each building in the neighborhood, the history of each eatery and how the food was prepared. Rahim provided plenty of time to eat, enjoy, and made sure there were plenty of bathroom stops. He was always considerate of the other patrons in each restaurant we stopped in and even made sure our placement on the sidewalks did not block the path for other pedestrians.

We took an NYC movie/TV tour (different company) the following day and although it was good, (they even gave us a black and white cookie!), it did not even compare to the food tour. I highly recommend taking "The Heart of the Village Food and Culture Tour!" Come hungry, there is LOTS of food to enjoy. And take the tour early in your trip, so you can go back to the neighborhood for a great meal.

This was our first time doing a tour like this one, and we loved it! It is a great way to get to try many different restaurants even in a short visit, and know you are tasting the most popular specialities! In addition, our tour guide was very friendly and fun, and we learned a lot about the neighborhood we were in! Well worth it!

I have done 3 tours with Food Tours of NY and have loved every one of them. It's not just food, but historical facts, pop culture and good company. Really well done.

Had a super time and ate way too much food - don't believe the reviews that say the food is not enough - It is! and very good and diverse. Diana was the best guide we could have had. Born and raised in area, great stories, big time knowledge of the culinary and other history of the area. Funny and informative, she showed us how special the food and other options in the village are and gave us many ideas for a return trip. We scratched the surface in 2+ hours.. We had a great time on my foodie daughter's 21st birthday trip to NYC!
