Taste mouthwatering eats from undiscovered spots in the cozy corners of Nolita, where old-world charm meets a youthful, downtown vibe.

Annie was our tour guide. She was awesome- friendly, welcoming, with a wonderful personality. The kids and I gave this tour as a gift to my husband for father's day. He loved it. We will totally take a different tour the next time we are in the city.

Bernie was our tour guide and he was great. We have done a few different tours, but never with children so we were unsure of how the experience would be. It was wonderful. Everyone loved it!!

"A culinary and cultural experience"

The Foods of New York - Nolita & NoHo Tour (North Little Italy & North Houston) in Manhattan is a terrific culinary and cultural experience. I gave my wife, this tour as a birthday gift - it was a huge success. Our tour guide, Anny was extremely pleasant and insightful. The tour started with the group singing happy birthday to my wife - Anny placed a birthday candle on a cupcake from the "Little Cupcake Bakeshop" (our meeting place and first stop). Not wanting to give to much away (spoiler alert) regarding details of the tour - most importantly don't eat a full meal prior to the tour, you will have plenty to eat. The pizza is scrumptious, the French and PanAmerican tastings were awesome and the dessert was wonderful. The walking tour and food stops were timed out perfectly and Anny's witty and informative comments about Moe, Marty and NYC history were excellent. My wife and I are locals so we drove into Manhattan and parked at the Icon Garage on Mott St. Our tour included people from Vermont, Indianapolis and Israel. We all got along great, which made the tour even more enjoyable. If you are lucky to have Anny as your tour guide you will be in excellent hands. I recommend The Foods of New York - Nolita and NoHo tour. Its fun, educational and most important - tasty !

This tour was so good in so many ways not only were we treated to some lovely cullinary delights but learnt so much about the area too.

This tour would not have been the same without our marvelous tour guide Annie. Her knowledge was extensive and informative and fun.

If I was to critisise the tour it would be that at some of the places visited I would like to have purchased some items. Unfortunately it was not practical to 'back track' ater the tour and not only did I miss out but so did the places in question.

Have been on a number of tours of this kind in America but I would say that this tour was by far the best and a lot of that was down to our tour guide.

Second tour with FTONY

This was my second Food Tour and it was every bit as good as the first. I'm amazed at the quality of the tour guides used by this firm. They are extremely personable and attentive...and intimately knowledgable of the neighborhoods. As our guide, Annie, put it "I stay in mother hen mode during the tour." Their guides seem to be driven by a mission that "every person will feel as if they've been given a personal tour...and return safe and satisfied."

What I think is easily overlooked when booking these tours is the "culture" part. I'm a foodie and that was my primary interest. The restaurants and shops are all welcoming to our group...even during busy lunch hours, we did not seem to be a burden to them to be seated and served. The tour is well planned in regard to portions, variety and locations. It could be best described as "grazing" through the neighborhood which would be very hard to do on your own in the course of 3 hours. As for the culture part, in between food stops, you're given brief overviews of the history, architecture, demographics, and "vibe" of the neighborhoods. Depending on your primary interest (food or culture), you're given just enough information for a well-paced tour...yet enough to entice you to visit the neighborhood again on your own to eat, shop or just stroll (or order something special online if available after your return home).

Be prepared for a somewhat leisurely, but well-paced stroll, mostly on side streets through actual neighborhoods (a nice respite from the business districts). It's not unlikely to see a celebrity or two, as many of them live in these areas.

I took the Greenwich Village tour last summer, and would highly recommend either of them.

I had taken a previous Greenwich food tour that was very good and educational. My husband had not been on one so it was a must do. What a great one this was!! Our guide Annie was beyond amazing and informative. The places were awesome and really took us to eateries we didn't know about. Our daughter lived in the city a few years back for 5 years and yet had not been to any of these. We couldn't wait to take her for Mexican at the restaurant on our tour. I would highly recommend this tour and the others to those wanting a true New Yorker experience.
