Our guide, Bob, knew the district inside out and seemed to enjoy sharing his knowledge of and enthusiasm about the area with us. The food samples were generous and delicious. Small group size made conversation and questions possible. Highly recommended.

We had a FANTASTIC time on this tour. Both my boyfriend and I both live in New York and learned so much about Greenwich Village and now have an extensive list of new restaurants we want to try. It was raining on the day of our tour, but it did not even effect our enjoyment as the tour provided us with ponchos and we had an umbrella.

Far more than just a food tour

I found the Central Village/Soho Tour informative and very enjoyable. While tasting the samples of food at numerous stops was pleasurable, I enjoyed even more learning the background of the restaurants and their role in the community. Our guide (Ramin--not sure of spelling) did an excellent job of escorting a group of about 15 through the area while minimizing the activity disruption of local residents. The handout guide to the area was also helpful for future restaurant suggestions. I would hightly recommend the tour.

That was a very well run trip with lots of information from a very knowledgeable guide. (Michael??)The food stops and samplings were more than enough to be considered a substantial lunch. I would highly recommend this trip to family and friends who are in the area.

Thanks.

Our female tour guide was enthusiastic and took great care of us, as we sampled a good-sized portion of samplings to taste during our tour. It was nice to also have places to sit down during our tastings; the tour is well-organized. It was great to learn some of history behind the founding of Chelsea Market and the Nabisco Company that once inhabited it and now the vendors who do today.

Although I really enjoyed walking around the market, it would have also been nice to have gone outside of the building and spend maybe an hour or so exploring places in the local neighborhood (like the Red Cat restaurant, if it wasn't too far.) Overall the tour is a pleasant experience. Plus, the final stop on the tour is a short walk go back to the market to eat or shop at or just walk around for second time.

The tour was great. Our guide Michael was knowledgeable, funny, and entertaining. He was almost 30 minutes late, though. But again, I think he's a great guide. Recommended for tourists and New Yorkers alike.

My friend and I meet in New York every few years... We've done the museums, the shows, the typical "tourist attractions". I went to New York University for grad school and thoroughly enjoyed the Greenwich Village experience in the late 70s. Of course, I was young, working and going to school at the time and never took advantage of the many restaurants, theatre and unique shops and services.

This tour provided my friend and I an opportunity to have fun, explore the culinary treats that are abundant in this area. The price was more than reasonable, with all that was included. Our tour guide was excellent. He kept things moving, didn't linger too long, but didn't rush us either. He was very knowledgeable about the area because he had lived there for many years. His sense of humor was wonderful (don't we all need a good laugh these days?) He was warm, thoughtful and personable. He was attentive to the needs and interests of the participants and entertained us with his many "inside" stories about the characters and the legends that embodied the village. Last, but not least, the food. Oh, the food! Just the right amount, variety and of course the best quality. I ordered some olive oil from one of the shops we visited and will return to several other of the merchants when I return to NYC. Next time I hope to bring my husband on the tour, or perhaps another one of the "Food Tours".

Ramheed was a font of knowledge about the history of Chinatown as he enthusiastically led us through out of the way areas and educated us on all things Chinese including food, herbal medicine and culture.
