Informative, fun and delicious food

Cindy, our guide, has a terrific rapport with vendors and restaurants we visited, and we were treated like like long time patrons every place we visited. She is tremendously knowledgeable on the history of the area, and her enthusiasm made a fun tour just that much better. Plan to do it again and recommend it to everyone I know.

This tour was the first thing I did during my weekend vacation to NYC. It was so informative and fun. I wish I could've done a tour of every neighborhood. The food was delicious and the tour guide was very knowledgable about the history and architecture of the neighborhood. I think the tour is a great value, at only $40. I have already recommended it to others and would even like to do it again.

Good but could be better

I thought that since this was a tour of Chelsea Meat Packing area there should have been a bit of meat to choose from. Also, it was supposed to be a 3 hour tour & was over 20 minutes early. I enjoyed what we did & where we went but I think it should have been w/in 10 minutes of the 3 hours & I think we could've had a taste of 1 or 2 more items from different places.

Greenwich Village Food Tour Review

We thought the tour was excellent. Not only the stops at the many restaurants but also the history lesson of the area supplied by the excellect tour guide. The tastings covered a wide variety of food and unusual locations. My daughter who lives in the city was also impressed.

The highlight of our trip!

The food tour was great! We were a group of four: Husband & wife, grown daughter and her boyfriend, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Our guide, Susan, was

very knowledgeable and lots of fun. The food was delicious, and we were quite full at the end of the tour. We learned a lot about the Village. It 's not easy to find activities to please a group with our diverse ages and interests, but the food tour was a BIG hit with everyone in our group. I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to (or living in) NYC.

A Really great informative experience

My group really enjoyed this tour, even though we were rained on for 3 hours!

The food samples were great, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and

pleasant, and we saw and learned alot about the village.

The only thing we felt would have helped was to be able to spend more time

at the establishments, to see more or actually go inside while we were there.

Otherwise, we still felt we gained enough knowledge to want to come back on our

own to visit several spots.

Waste of $40

Really rather boring. 4 of our 12 wandered off 1/3 of the way into tour. Not much territory covered, More standing than walking. Nothing you wouldn't find just walking mainly down Bleecker St. Guide Susan needs to consider other career opportunities. Not "gourmet" food. Good for clueless types only.

You can walk through Chelsea Market Place and miss some of the MOST important points of interest if you are not on this "somewhat exclusive" tour. Samplings of food and beverages are delightful as is the historical information offered forth by a guide who is energetic and entertaining, as well as informative and intelligent. The meat packing district has quite a bit of history that one would most likely not be privy to if not on this tour. One of the best offerings in the city. We also loved and highly recommend the Greenwich Village food and historical tour.

Overall a fantastic experience. I lived in New York a number of years but learned quite a bit from the tour. Food was very good. Guide (Mahalo Cindy!) was outstanding in every way; she made the tour! My girlfriend and I had a blast. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and family as well as take the tour again with them and/or the Chelsea/meatpacking district one.

Vacation highlight

My wife & I spent a week in NYC and this was definitely one of the highlights. We had a wonderful sunny day, an engaging host with terrific knowledge and great sample food! I would thoroughly recommend doing this tour early in your vacation as you will want to come back to the area to act on the recommendations. We ate in the Village 3 out of the remaining 4 nights we spent in NYC based on the advice and handouts (useful!) given and didn't regret any choices. We did regret going the other night to a big cattle herd "trendy" restaurant in Midtown paying more money for dreadful service and average food. I'm usually very sceptical of paying for this sort of tour but genuinely, I could barely fault it. Don't wait any longer, just book it!

Great highlight of the holiday!

Took the tour after a recommendation from a friend and will recommend it to others coming to New York. Interesting combination of detail about the area, the people and of course the food - the tasters were great.

We went back to 'Le Gigot' as our final meal before leaving - a great way to finish the holiday - we mentioned that we were there as a direct result of going on your food tour.

Kurt was a really good guide - humerous, informative and very enthusiastic - a credit to your business.

We would recomend that visitors take the tour at the start of their holiday so that they can go back to have snacks and meals at the establishments during their stay.

The printed summary guide and local map was very useful - it helped us remember the various places and the contact details enabled us to phone and book reservations.

Little too long

I thought the tour was about 45 minutes too long. The tour was very informational and we enjoyed it, but the fatigue was a little distracting. Slowly shuffling your feet and standing around is more tiring than walking at a brisk pace. Our guide, I don't remember her name, was very, very informative and I would take a tour with her again.
