This is just such a great tour of one of NY's best district -- the Meat Packing District . The tour has great NY history, Chelsea Market is so much fun for shopping, etc. and to see what Cohen did with this historical Nabisco plant is just fantastic. You get a great mix of indoor/outdoor and our tour guide, Cindy was just fabulous -- filled with a great sense of humor, tons of NY personality and very, very knowledgable. The food portion of the tour of equal if not better value -- from vinegar and salt tastings to biscuits and jams, hams, cheeses, and even full bolognese plate! You won't be disappointed... take the tour. We're native NYers and we loved it, including my two teenage kids!

This tour ranks among the top tours we have taken anywhere! Our guide, Sephera (sp), was fantastic - she was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, smart and funny. She kept the group on track and on time, which is not always easy. The food purveyors we visited were varied and fun and the food was marvelous. By the end of 3 hours we were full of food and of information. We would do this again and would highly recommend it to anyone heading to NYC!

My daughter and I took the train from CT just for the food tour. It was worth it!!! Curt our guide was entertaining and full of knowledge regarding the area and the wide variety of foods we tasted. Everything we had was delicious. I would recommend this to all....locals as well as tourists. Our last tasting was a fabulous chocolate dessert accompanied by prosecco.. daughter didn't want it to end. She was the last to leave the table

Lots of tasting which was good but I particularly enjoyed when our guide pointed out architectural details that I would have otherwise missed. Tour provides a sense of that particular part of the neighbourhood. Guide, Sephra, was friendly, informative and fun. As a solo participant, I appreciated that she made me feel a part of the group vis a vis seating.

Although this tour is a bit more expensive than other food tours, it is well worth it. We had food served to us in 3 different restaurants while we were seated. Most delicious was the dim sum experience and the Peking duck experience. We will go back to those restaurants and the others that are recommended in the program brochure handed out to us. The 3rd restaurant was most educational -- a Malaysian restaurant. We will go back to try new things. Our "dessert" was a stand-up affair with samples passed on a tray.

The guide's knowledge as we walked the streets and stopped by shops was outstanding.

First time on a food tour

This was my first visit to NYC and my first walking food tour. What a fabulous way to learn about the neighborhood (Nolita and NoHo). I went solo because my husband was at a conference, but after he was done for the weekend I took him through the tour and enjoyed it all over again. Bert was so great explaining the history and describing the food - he really enjoys his work!! And food!! We went to places that I probably would not have - like the Little Cupcake Bakeshop on Prince but I returned to get a generous slice of the Brooklyn Blackout Cake. At Tacombi the group enjoyed esquites (roasted corn with a sauce) and I returned to get the fish tacos and watch a world cup game - that was fun. I enthusiastically recommend this tour.

Chelsea Market & Highline

Great tour. Met Darrell, our tour leader, and 16 others in the Chelsea Market on a Sunday afternoon. Within five minutes Darrell knew our names and proved to be an enthusiastic and knowledgeable leader. The first eight or so stops were all within a block of the former Nabisco Company. Easy walking. Darrell gave us an historical background of the area and the Nabisco company. We had a little time to shop, maybe 5-8 minutes before we walked over to the Highline. Again Darrell provided us with the history behind this beautiful elevated park. We finished our 3 hr tour with a tasting in the Meat Packing District. The samples were all yummy and plentiful. Great Way to quickly see the Market, Highline and Meat-Packing District.
