Great Afternoon

This is my third food tour with Food Tours of NY and I can't recommend them enough. Our guide, Cindy, was great from start to finish and had a great personality. The food was wonderful, as usual on these tours. We started out by eating our dessert first and worked our way backwards towards the entree. I have never been in Chelsea or the Meat Packing district, and this tour gave us so much of the history of the area. I've learned so much from all the guides about the areas that the tours are in and it was no different this time. Next time I'm in NY, I'm going to take my sister back for this tour, she'll love it!

A wonderful afternoon

This is the second food tour I've been on with Food Tours of NY. This one was even better than the first one. Our guide, Rasheem(sp?), was wonderful. He was knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhoods we walked through, and of the food that was served on the tour. In spite of the cold, slightly windy day, my family had a great time and we left so full. The food was great, from the Indian kati roll to the walnut chocolate tart. I would recommend this tour to anyone and haven't stopped talking about since we took it. I'm already looking for the next food tour to take the next time I'm in NYC.

Very informative - well worth it

Guide was well informed - returned to dine at some of the restaurants recommended. Found the historic (landmark) part of the tour very interesting and the cheese tasting at the end fab.

Only negatives - 3 hours was quite a long time (especially in the winter) - recommend to do this tour in the warmer months

Our guide Kurt was wonderful, I would highly recommend him. We were given a gift certificate for this tour, because we are not "foodies" we most likely would not have chosen it on our own. We learned a lot, tasted some wonderful treats, learned a lot about the area and NYC in general, but found that three hours on our feet fighting huge crowds of people was exhausting. I am 75, my "date" is 83....we're still in great shape, but don't have as much stamina as in the past. Thanks for a fun tour!

We were in NYC dropping off our daughter at NYU. I googled food tours and this company quickly rose to the top in reviews. We were not disappointed-Marie was wonderful as a guide. She was very knowledgable about the area and the foods. Lots of history of Greenwhich Village in the tour, and some really, really good New York food. Marie knew everyone- saying hi to all the local shop owners. That made it really fun. We ended up going back that night to a smal French restaurant on Cornelius st that Marie talked about. It was wonderful. I would highly recommend this tour. We plan to do some of the other tours offered by Foods of NewYork tours when we are in NYC!

Welcomed change of pace

New York City is obviously the one of the greatest places in the world, but after a few days of the crowds and lines---the Greenwich Village walking tour offered a welcomed respite. No lines--a small, friendly group of peers---and a knowledgeable, amiable guide made this a perfect change of pace before we dove back into the fantastic frenzy of the Big Apple!

brilliant way to spend an afternoon

We really enjoyed the guided tour of Greenwich village. Our tour guide was friendly, enthusiastic and full of New York charm. It was fascinating to hear all about the area, to visit a wide range of food shops and restaurants and to look behind the scenes which we would not otherwise have been able to do, and to have snippets about the history and architecture of the area. We were able to revisit the area and the places visited and find some great places to eat in our own time. We would definately do another of the tours. This is not to be missed!

Eye opening tour of Asian cuisine

A very worthwhile tour of the local Chinese culture and culinary landscape. Unlike other food tours that can easily entertain by presenting varied ethnic foods, this tour met the challenge of experiencing just one, yet was captivating in describing the complexity of what authentic Chinese food can offer. The neighborhood alone was a sensory experience. I wouldn't recommend for kids and young teens, but otherwise one of the most gratifying cultural experiences I've had in NYC.

This China Town walking food tour was absolutely spectacular and the amount of food you taste is incredible! It rained the day of our tour but that didn't stop or slow our group down. The guide was extremely knowledgable and funny at the same time.

Great tour and I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it!!!

This Greenwich Village walking food tasting and cultural tour was one of the best tours we took on our recent trip to New York City. We (me, my mother, and my daughter) felt safe and it was pleasing to all ages. I "HIGHLY" recommend this tour to anyone. :)

tour was excellent. we would go again and bring some friends next time. easy to recommend to everyone. what a great time we had. way more food than we expected to get. our guide Kurt was a ten out of ten. he made the whole experience

way more than we expected. half the people on our tour were living in nyc. great to see so many locals and not all tourists. it makes us want to come back just to

stay in the village and eat and walk and stay for restaurants and pubs and shopping.

this is a must do for everyone visiting new york.
