KURT was Great!!
Tue, Aug 17, 10   11:00 AM DeniseMulca Unspecified 60-69 Local Group of Friends
Kurt introduced himself very enthusiastically and quickly learned all of our names.

He explained what the tour would be like and took us to very interesting sites along the way.

It was obvious that he was well prepared, versed on his material and enjoyed doing his job.

He had interesting tidbits about the neighborhoods and the local eateries.

Food Tour

Tour was conducted too fast, the eating stops were rushed. I think the guide had to cover too much. Two pizzas, two deserts? Much of the food was average. The Asian food stop seemed out of place in a predominantly Italian food tour. The history could have included more on the wonderful folk musicians who got their start in the Village. Mindless emphasis on what building sold for how much. I do not think I could recommend this tour.

Interesting, but better without children

I thoroughly enjoyed the history and the different types of foods of Greenwich! My kids ages 15, 17, & 19 were pretty bored though and we wound up leaving a little early.

Also, the tour really stayed within a 2 block radius, I was hoping to see more of Greenwich.

A walking tour of Greenwich Village while it's 105 degrees outside. Tough, very tough. But, the food was fantastic. Would have been nice to include more wine tastings. Nice tidbits of info on Greenwich Village that you could probably have gotten by Googling. If you are looking for info/background on the different types of restaurants and other eateries in the village, take the tour.

We really enjoyed the tour even though it was really hot out! Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Our kids really liked the food , my husband and I thought it was soso. But what really made it fun was learning the history of Greenwich village and learning a lot of new things. The free gelato coupon at the end was the best and we all became fans of something new!

This was my first food tour and was highly recommended by a friend. It did not disappoint. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and it made one want to go back to each store for more!! I didn't want the tour to end. Planning my next food tour....can't wait.

The best time we have had in NYC...

We visit the city regularly with family and friends, but, we have never made it into Greenwich. This tour gave us history, culture, community and food. Raheem was a knowledgeable and a great story-teller. He made a connection with each person in the tour group. We did go back for dinner the next night to one of the places we tasted. This was 1 tour we all unanimously agreed was the best time we had in NYC.

Delicious in every way!

This was our second time on a food tour with this group and it was once again a highlight of our trip -- which says a lot in a city with so many highlights. Our guide, Rahim, was aweseome! Not only did he know tons about food, the neighbourhood and its history, he was a great speaker and a fun guide. Plus, the food was great -- I'll never, ever forget that Monte's cheesecake.

I heartily recommend this experience!

Had a great time!!!!!

We all had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide Raheem (sorry if it is spelled wrong) was very knowledgeable of the area, made great recommendations and was very relaxed. He took his time and never rushed us from one venue to the next. All of the tastings we indulged on were fantastic. Each one was unique and not your run of the mill fair. They all left a lasting impression, but I think the two that stand out the most for us were the bolognese and the ricotta cheese cake. We certainly did not walk away hungry. The cultural side of the tour beyond the food was quite interesting. We found it very easy to put ourselves in the past with all of the great writers and musicians of the different times and wonder what it was like. Greenwich village and Soho is such a great area of the city. We can't wait to go back. We have already recommended this tour to our friends. Hopefully they will take our advice. The next time I'm in the city I hope to do the Chelsea and Meatpacking District tour. Hopefully it will be sooner rather that later.

Our tour guide Curt Upton made this tour a great experience. His commitment, humour and "team building" ability made the day!

Nice selection of restaurants too.

I especially enjoyed the history of the area that our guide included. The more the better. The information on the food establishments was nice too. It gave a flavor to the area.

A wonderful outing
Sat, Apr 24, 10   11:00 AM dwiest Unspecified 50-59 Local Couple on a Date
This was a wonderful way to learn of the architecture, geography, culture and especially the local cuisine. Our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgable, friendly and professional. The six tastings provided a wonderful cross-section of foods available in this Greenwich village neighborhood. At the top of the list were Havana and LaPalma where we hope to return for an evening of dining. We were blessed with wonderful weather for the tour, which, I'm sure helps with the overall impression. Still, we went back the next day, which was gloomy and wet, and stopped at Murray's, Rocco's and Fiacco's, filling out trunk for the ride home. Loved the tour, would recommend to anyone (and already have). We look forward to trying another tour in a different neighborhood.

I enjoyed the tour very much. The only complaint I would have was that when the tour was over I couldn't find X&O sauce! I tried a Chinese grocery store but that was impossible.

Will definately take another tour.
