This was a first visit to NYC for myself and my husband. The Food & Cultural Tour of Greenwich Village conducted by Heather ticked all the boxes for us. Not only did we hear some fascinating facts about Greenwich Village we tasted some fabulous local food too.Heather was a delightful guide . We were so pleased with this Tour that we returned to Greenwich Village twice afterwards,to shop and to eat at one of the Tour Eateries. This Greenwich Village Tour is great value and lots of fun.

A delicious way to see Chinatown

This tour was great! There was plenty to eat and everything was delicious. The tour guide was excellent and it was a good mix of food and culture. I thought it was good value for money as a four course lunch in New York is unlikely to cost you much less than the cost of the tour.

Chelsea Market/MP District Disappointment

If you are expecting a market on the scale of la Boqueria in Barcelona then this is not it. It's a very commercial market in an interesting old building, which has sympathetically been renovated to retain some of the original features, but the individual shops make for mostly a sterile experience. This is countered by a standup comic who doubles as our guide on the days he doesn't have a gig. The Meat Packing District accessed by a walk along the High-line was interesting and our final stop in an old butchers shop for a tasting was excellent.

The food samples were top notch. There was more than enough food given during the tour, and our host was wonderful at providing information about the market and it's history. Would highly recommend. The Highline was an added bonus of touring the area.

Great activity to see and taste NYC neighborhoods

Starting with a tour guide who was enthusiastic, knowledgable, and friendly, the sites, sounds and tastes of the NoHo neighborhoods were authentic and enjoyable. The three hours + my wife and I spent on the tour went by faster than a NewYork minute. The variety of tastings covered everything from watching our pizza made to a eating French bread flown in daily from France. The history of the area was related to us by our tour guide as we strolled the streets from tasting to tasting. She gave us enough details to take us back in time and relive the early days of growing up and living in the city. The group was small enough so we could all get to know each other and share all the benefits of the tour. Our guide's last treat was to gather us all at a busy street corner and serenade us with a song. She was terrific. I would highly recommend this tour as one of the best of New York's food tasting tours.

Barry was an excellent guide. Not only did she give us information about the food choices but she told many anecdotes of the history of houses. Very enjoyable for my husband and myself

I thoroughly enjoyed the Greenwich Village Walking Food Tour. The samples of food were delicious and I was stuffed by the end of the tour (don't eat before you go). Plus learning about Greenwich Village was very interesting. I highly recommend this tour. The tranquil atmosphere of the Village was very pleasant as well. I couldn't believe I was in New York!

Kurt our tour guide was phenomenal, not only was he well versed in the history of the area, & the food, he was entertaining! I grew up in the area and came back with a friend who has never been to New York. It was a great way to get away from the busy tourist traps and get a personal view of the village. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning about the local area and loves food. Next time I come back I would do another tour in a different area. Well worth the money and time. We definitly hit the best spots for pizza, canolies, and Murray's cheese shop is the best!!!

My wife and I had a fantastic time and our guide was full of energy and jokes.

The food was great! Would recommend this tour to anyone on the fence.

The guide was very personal and made great lengths in talking to us by our names

just by meeting our group for the first time.

We loved the personal touch at the Italian restaurant and the birthday

singing for my wife.

I really went on this tour for my wife because I knew she wanted to do it!

However, Marie (I think that was her name, but I may be mistaken!) made us all enjoy ourselves and I think we all learned a great deal about the area.

I will definitely be revisiting some of the places on the tour.

Besides the excellent food tastings, it was wonderful to learn something about the area, its culture, its inhabitants. Our guide was well informed and shared information so enthusiastically. She obviously enjoys conducting the tours. This tour gave me a nice snapshot of Greenwich Village that I would not have gotten any other way. Now I know what cannoli is and I love it!

Our tour guide (Kerianne ?) met us promptly at our designated place. The tour mainly stayed around Bleecher Street and included 9 tastings : a pizza slice, a chocolate cookie, a teeny cannoli, olive oil and bread, a 3 cheese sampler, 2 types of meat products , a small cauliflower dish, and a dish with three small appetizers. Though it was 90 degrees the day we went, our guide was good about trying to keep us in the shade even when we ate on the sidewalk (which we did for 5 out of the 9 places), so it was not too bad temperature-wise. Our guide was friendly and informative and the tour matched its write-up, but I felt what was done could have been done in 2 hours, not 3+. Some of the stuff we did seemed like kill time while the earlier tour group was finishing before we went on to our next tasting. The guide talked A LOT about real estate and what things cost, and I guess some people might find that interesting. I would prefer a tour that was more a pure food talk. I know, I know : the on-line description said, "Learn about the history, culture, architecture and local entertainment offerings that make Greenwich Village so unique from the rest of New York City. " I'm just saying that i wish there was something more about the food than all this other stuff...which I have seen before on walking tours that were JUST about culture and history, etc. So, for someone who wants it all in one package, this is a cute tour that gives a TASTE of food and a skosh of culture/history. For people who want a food focus, this really isn't it.
