Great way to learn about NYC neighborhood history

We enjoyed the Greenwich tour in the past. It was a lot more walking and less eating. The Chelsea market tour is just one amazing restaurant, gourmet bakery and candy shop, specialty brew shop/wine shop after another. What a fun afternoon. Seriously, do not eat after 9 am before coming to this tour. Walking the Highline Park and learning about the neighborhood history was fantastic too. We finished off with a delightful group, mini-meal in the Meatpacking district. We now feel like we have a new NYC hood to hang around in - knowing all the hot spots and history and gossip. It would take multiple visits to NYC to achieve the knowledge you receive in 3 hours of fun and deliciousness with this tour!

It was a good tour. I had an opportunity to try little bits from a lot of place. I would not have been able to do that without the tour. I also really thought that the history was interesting as I saw the revitalization that occurred in that one area and I can take it back to my home town and share

Very nice tour, great food, but what really made it enjoyable was the tour guide. He kept us entertained with his humor and comments. He was also very knowledgeable about the area, about the food, as well as the recipes. We would definitely go on this same tour again, as well as others that he is the guide.

Leisurely stroll through the Village soaking up history, tidbits about architecture, and most of all a delicious variety of food and drink along the way. Our guide was personable and very well versed on the area as well as the food scene in the Village.

We had Bert as our tour guide and his love for his job and for Greenwich Village made the tour even more enjoyable. Bert was always concerned about the people on the tour and he answered numerous questions about food, architechure and directions to other NY attractions at the end of the tour. A friend had recommended this tour to me and I felt I would be impressed with the tast of food but I was surprised at the variety. The people we met at the various shops & restaurants were pleasant and humorous. I think the most surprising thing I took away from the tour was the history and information about the architecture of Greenwich Village. I can't wait to return to NYC and take a different tour with this group. Thanks for the great time and thank you Bert for provide us with an afternoon we enjoyed tremendously. He's been one of the best guides I ever took a a tour with!

I would recommend this tour to any foodie as well as anyone interested in the history of the area. Our tour guide, Marie, was a local to the west village and seemed enthusiastic and knowledgeable from the very start to the very end! It was wonderful having such a great guide introduce us to the owners of all the places we stopped and made every delicious bite even more special. We also spent a good amount of time in all the restaurants/locations which was great for picture taking. While there was an excellent variety of food on this tour it seems like it would've been a big no-no for someone who is dairy free. Most everything we tasted had some form of cheese or milk. By far though my favorite part of the tour was walking about the historic landmarks in Greenwich village. It was an easy walk for our full bellies and it was really cool seeing and hearing the history in such a great part of New York City.
