Fabulous Tour of Chelsea Market and surrounds

This was a great tour of a beautiful, historic facility and its surrounding neighborhood. Our tour guide, Cindy, was the best. She is personable and knowledgable, and made the three-hour tour fly by. The food tastings were excellent and, as advertised, more than enough to eliminate the need for a formal lunch. The limited size of the group, a reasonable fourteen, added to the positive experience.

Raheem was great. He tooks us to some very unique eateries. He also was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. The combination made for a great tour.

Great way to spend an afternoon

This is a great way to spend an afternoon away from the tourist traps of Manhattan and find out about the real NY from a New Yorker's point of view.

Our guide Rahim was superb and whilst we weren't familiar with all the cultural references being from the UK we did know where he was coming from most of the time.

The food was excellent going into places we probably wouldn't normally do just by the look of the outside. We went back to Montes for our final dinner (thanks for the recommendation) and also to some of the great places we went to on the original tour a few years ago - glad to see they are still going strong - John's Pizza and Rocco's particularly.

Excellent New York experience

I had a wonderful experience with the tour. The leader of the tour was very comical and knew the history in great detail. The food was delicious and a real neat added bonus to the tour. This tour was one of the highlights to my first visit to New York. I even went back and ate at one of the restaurants on the tour later in the week and it was GREAT. I would suggest this tour to anyone who wants to get the real feel of Greenwich village and learn the history while getting to eat some really delicious food. I loved the tour and would do it again in a heart beat.

Fattening and Fun

A great way to see some of Italian New York you may otherwise miss. Our guide was a bit of a namesdropper - soandso walked this pavement in the 1960s - lots of people that I, in my ignorance , have never heard of...the food was plentiful and good - Cannolis, risotto, pizza, chocolate chip cookie - you get the idea. Pick a sunny day if you can! All in all you won't walk more than about 3 blocks, so calling it a "walking" tour is a bit exaggerated.

We loved the food tour with Cindy, she was so much fun to be around and the food tastings were spectacular! The variety of establishments and the rich history shared with us made this the most fun and entertaining part of our trip. We loved the food and came back to the village the next night for dinner and food souveniers. Thanks for providing such a friendly and fun experience. We can't wait to come back and take the other tours! Our trip would not have been as much fun and we would have never known to visit the establishments and walk down the beautiful streets had we not taken this tour. I just can't say enough about how enjoyable Cindy was to be around, her enthusiasm and joy of being in Greenwich Village was catching. Thanks so much for making our 10th anniversary such a blast!

Can't wait to get back!

My husband and I took our son, age 18, on this tour. Not only was the food great, the establishments were friendly, Our tour guide was wonderful. Along with the food we received an insider's tour to Greenwich Village. My son was so impressed with Joe's Pizza that we had to ride the subway the next day from midtown Manhattan before our flight left just so he could have some more!

Fun way to eat your way thru the Village!

We had a great tour and guide in Kurt. Learned great tidbits about West Village, architecture, residents, and above all - restaurants (also went into a few and chatted w/ owners/staff)! We took the 3 pm tour and saw an 8pm show - - it served as dinner and none of us were hungry the rest of the evening. Tried about 3 different desserts, and 5 or 6 non-sweet food items. I would give 5 stars except that I did feel that trying 2 different pizza places was overkill (as mentioned by a previous post) - even tho they were 2 different styles. Both were excellent, but in hindsight it would've been nice to try something different at another of the restaurants instead. We wound up eating at a couple of the suggested restaurants during our visit the rest of the weekend. The recommendations were wonderful.
