My husband and I loved the Chelsea Market/Meatpacking food tour! Our guide was friendly, informative, and fun. We will definitely spend more time in this area next time we are back in New York. We have been on the Greenwich tour and look forward to trying another one in the future.

Food & history - a great combo Greenwich Village
Wed, Jul 6, 11   12:00 PM lryder Unspecified Unspecified Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We loved our food tour in Greenwich Village! (family of 4 with 12 and 18 yr olds). A little off the beaten track....not as crowded as the 'major attractions'. We tasted the simple (NY pizza and chocolate chip cookies), the eclectic (risotto balls and dates stuffed gorganzola) and the divine (Italian cannoli)!

Bert was our tour guide and was enthusiastic from start to finish. He happily answered all questions about the tour and NYC in general. It was hot but he never faltered. Bert lead us on a multi-faceted tour. Every street was a destination whether we were tasting delicious food, getting the lowdown on neighborhood restaurants and shops of all kinds or learning about the history of Village architecture. It was a highlight of our trip.

Later that evening we went back to one of the neighborhood restaurants that Bert had told us about....there really was a 1700's farmhouse 'out back' annexed to the restaurant courtyard and surrounded by modern buildings!! Who knew. And the food there was that meal was a highlight of our trip too.

It was a good day in NYC!

In a nutshell, we loved this tour! This is the third Foods of New York Tour we have taken and once again they have hit a home run with the Chelsea Market and Meatpacking District Tour. Our guide, Diana, was wonderful. She was both entertaining and extremely well versed in every aspect of the tour, including the history and cultural aspects of the market and the surrounding Meatpacking area. We sampled foods from a wide variety of food shops and restaurants in and around the Chelsea Market -- all of which were absolutely delicious! To top the great food off, we gained facinating insights into the development of the businesses, artwork and architecture in the marketplace and the surrounding area.

Our family of 5 enjoyed a hearty lunch and was thouroghly entertained by our witty and knowledgeable tour guide, Bert. He gave us a great back door experience through Greenwich Village and it's many tastey culinary as well as cultural treats. We would never had been able to sample and taste as many delicious foods nor gain the inside scoop without having been on this tour. Our family gives 5 thumbs up for Bert and Food Tours of NYC!!! Thank you for a wonderful taste of NYC.

Bari was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable not only about the neighborhood but about all the food we ate. She consistently listed off ingredients to all the dishes we had and gave us a great concept of the history behind everything. She was very good at keeping the group together, keeping track of everyone, and had a real passion for the Village. Thanks for everything!

Three adult family members had a wonderful time.

We thought our guide was very well informed, her voice projected well [which was important because there is a lot of background noise], and enthusiastic. We got a real sense of the West Village scene, history, culture and food. The venues were fun to visit and the provided food was varied and delicious. We all felt it was time well spent and a reasonable value. I think the narrative would be a little too long and detailed for young children.

From the first 2 minutes when our guide, Kirk, had memorised 12 participants names and their country of origin, (as well as the 4 people - and their country of origin - WHO HADN'T EVEN ARRIVED!!!), he had us "eating" out of his hand. His enthusiasm was infectious, his local and food knowledge extraordinary, and his delivery flawless. A true professional. Would recommend this tour to anyone interested in this area of New York - the three hours flew by and we all wanted more!

After Prom Restaurant Tour

The kids in my daughter's prom group wanted to go to NYC for the day after prom. One of the planned activities was the Chelsea Tasting Tour. The kids had a great time. They raved about their tour guide and the tastings they received. It was a wonderful way to start their day in the city. Even though they attended other events while in the city, the Chelsea Tasting Tour was the high-light of their day. Thank you for your time and efforts.
