Nice tour; Nice food.

Our tour guide (Kerianne ?) met us promptly at our designated place. The tour mainly stayed around Bleecher Street and included 9 tastings : a pizza slice, a chocolate cookie, a teeny cannoli, olive oil and bread, a 3 cheese sampler, 2 types of meat products , a small cauliflower dish, and a dish with three small appetizers. Though it was 90 degrees the day we went, our guide was good about trying to keep us in the shade even when we ate on the sidewalk (which we did for 5 out of the 9 places), so it was not too bad temperature-wise. Our guide was friendly and informative and the tour matched its write-up, but I felt what was done could have been done in 2 hours, not 3+. Some of the stuff we did seemed like kill time while the earlier tour group was finishing before we went on to our next tasting. The guide talked A LOT about real estate and what things cost, and I guess some people might find that interesting. I would prefer a tour that was more a pure food talk. I know, I know : the on-line description said, "Learn about the history, culture, architecture and local entertainment offerings that make Greenwich Village so unique from the rest of New York City. " I'm just saying that i wish there was something more about the food than all this other stuff...which I have seen before on walking tours that were JUST about culture and history, etc. So, for someone who wants it all in one package, this is a cute tour that gives a TASTE of food and a skosh of culture/history. For people who want a food focus, this really isn't it.

Good food, bad tour guide

The tour itself had a lot of potentional. The food was good, and the places we stopped were decently cool. The tour guide was terrible. She spoke too much about all the people she knew, how she used to live in the neighborhood, and all the hard work it took to plan the tour. Unfortunately, she didn't work very hard to be a good tour guide. She was very scatter-brained. She would briefly mention one thing and then would change subjects to something completely different and equally as uninteresting. Her explanations were terrible and never cohesive or thorough. Her knowledge of history was very poor. For example, when we stopped at Aaron Burr's house, her explanation was, "I think what they said on the PBC program I watched a few weeks ago was he was mad at Alexandar Hamilton for saying bad things about him, so he called him out for it and challenged him to a duel." A tour guide should take their job more seriously than "I saw on a PBC program." She should try to read. Maybe then she wouldn't have missed the crucial fact that Aaron Burr blamed Hamilton for losing his election as the major of New York, a fact that is taught to all high school students in their American History classes but our New York Tour guide was ignorant about.

I liked the food, but I would have rathered arranged a two hour tour of Greenwhich with Free Tours by Foot (all of their tour guides had extensive knowledge of NYC and could actually make the tour into a cohesive story) and then spend an hour at a nice Greenwhich restaurant. I felt like this tour was a waste of 3 hours, all because of the incompetence of our tour guide. She was unprepared to give a 3 hour tour, and I expect better when I pay $50.

Hopefully I'll receive some kind of reply from the manager of the tour with an explanation so that I don't have to post this review on trip advisor.

Our daughter has lived in the neighborhood for several years and joined us for the tour. We all enjoyed the tour and all of the food choices. All the food was very good and the samples were not stingy. It was a fun afternoon and time well spent.

Nice idea. I would have taken more of the historic description of the Village. The animator (Bret, if I recall, I went thursday June 28th 12PM) was very kind, animated and funny, was keen to answer all questions he could.

Our tour guide was Bert, and he was so much fun. I appreciated his sincere love of food and descriptions at each food stop because they were detailed without being snooty. He REALLY likes his job and is very good at it!

The food provided was high quality and way more food than I would ever eat for lunch. I wish I had not eaten breakfast!

Excellent value for $50.

Would definitely do this again and recommend to family visiting from out of town and to locals as well!

Bob, our tour guide, made the tour what it was. He is extremely knowledgeable, not just about the food establishments we visited, but, more generally, about the history of the area we visited and of Manhattan.

This is my second food tour in NY and I am looking forward to the next one. Our tour guide Kurt was great. He had lots of information, and his delivery was flawless. I was impressed that he remembered everyone's name on the tour. We ate our way through Greenwich Village, and I loved every bite.

Unique Memorable Way to Visit Greenwich Village

I wanted to share a unique experience with my 18 year old daughter while visiting NYC. Our food tour of Greenwich Village exceeded all of my expectations! An easy walking tour of the picturesque historic area was led by the most delightful and polished guide- Sephara! Her patter wove culinary, cultural, historical and architectural ingredients resulting in a tasty and satisfying experience. She peppered her narration with celebrity anecdotes which played well in this group. We agreed this was one of the highlights of our trip! Brava!
