Ask for tour guide Raheem...he had so much insight into the area and food. I believe he does the Chinatown tour as well, so I'll be looking into that.

The leader Bert was amazing--very knowlegeable and funny! The food was awesome, lots of interesting trivia, loved the stuff about the architecture and buildings we were looking at and even had a celebrity sighting on our tour! Would definitely recommend, already plan on doing some of the other tours offered and we've told our friends about it! They were very accommodating (I'm a vegetarian) and everything on the tour was timed perfectly--not too long, not too short--just right amount of time to get it all in! They thought about bathroom breaks, every detail was well planned out. Took my husband who is a foodie for his birthday and he LOVED it!

The tasting part was great fun and delicious. We went to a variety of tasting locations. We also toured the historic area of the Village and learned about the history of the area. My first visit to the Village , and I want to go back!

This is such a great tour for both native New Yorkers and for out of town folks. There is such a rich history at the Chelsea Market and it's vendors as well as the Meatpacking District. The pace of the tour is great and the activities include tastings at some of New York's best. The Highline is a fantastic venue and despite the unexpected snowy weather we got while we were there, it was still a great tour - inside and outside! We'd even consider repeating it again!

Burt was a excellent tour guide, his knowledge and detail of the neighborhood and its trends was excellent.

The tour was very interesting all the way through. I would definitely recommend this to friends and anyone who likes neighborhood eats with a splash of history..... It introduced my wife and I to a new neighborhood to visit when in NY besides the commercialism of Time Square... Loved it.

The setting, not the food, was the star

Tour guide was pleasant and knew her stuff. We especially enjoyed learning about the history and architecture of the Chelsea Market building, the trip inside Morimoto's restaurant, and the walk on the High Line. The food--well, not spectacular. The best things were the soup at the fish market and Sarabeth's biscuit. Could have done without the so-so cupcake and the hors d'oeuvre from the basket shop. Italian market food was not really to my taste, either, and the pasta at the final restaurant was OK but not great. As advertised, there was plenty of food, and I didn't go hungry. We did the Greenwich Village food tour a couple of years ago and the food on that was much more interesting and better tasting--so maybe it's all about the choices in the area? Again, go for the history and lower your expectations on the food, and you'll enjoy the trip!
