I had the pleasure of taking this walking tour with some great friends. It was our lucky day when we arrived to find DARRELL (our fearless, funny tour guide) waiting anxiously for our group. Oh, what a delight he was. The tour led us through the unique market area of so many fabulous and tasty shops. So many great tasting, so much fun and laughs. Darrell gave us so much history of the old meatpacking area. I highly recommend this adventure!

Darrell Rocks!!!

Wonderful Experience

I was visiting NYC for the first time with my mom and sister. Chelsea Market was one of the "must see" places on our list, and I'm so glad we experienced it. As a first timer, I could not have navigated the Market without a tour guide, as it would have been overwhelming. Instead, our guide Darryl made it a fun, interesting and tasty experience! He had us laughing the whole time, while providing us with fun facts throughout the tour. What a bonus to get out beyond the market and visit the High Line Park and the Meat District. Amazing! I would recommend this tour for adults of all ages. However, I would not recommend for children.

Can't wait for the Soho food tour!

Every October my cousin runs a bus trip to NYC and we vowed to go every year and experience the Big Apple in a different way each time. This year I happened upon the Greenwich Village food tour and it was great! We had to wait a bit for some stragglers but we pretty much started on time. Our guide Karianne was great, she was animated and truly enjoyed her job, it showed. She kept us on track and added some interesting factoids along the way. The time flew by and before we knew it our tour was over. I am CRAVING a chocolate cookie right now, does Milk and Cookies deliver to Mass?

Food tour good but canned

While our tour guide knew a lot about the topics and was lively, I felt as if we were on an assembly line. His presentation, down to the jokes, was completely canned, almost memorized. Maybe that's inevitable. He worked very hard to get to know the names of the people on the tour, which was good, but the way he used those was hokey. I did like the architectural information about the neighborhood. The food, while delicious in quality and generous in quantity, was pretty much some form of cheese and grain in every place. I would have liked to understand more deeply the food history of the area. We enjoyed ourselves, but I wouldn't go back.

Fun in a place that would otherwise be confusing

My friend and I loved the tour. I'm an ex-New Yorker who doesn't take tours, but I was glad I did. I'm no longer used to crowds, and I probably would have walked through the Market as quickly as possible if I had been on my own. Our leader, Bob, was charming and well informed -- and the information he shared really gave us a sense of place. The snacks were delicious. The tour was definitely worth the cost.

I highly recommend this tour. Bert our guide was so fun and informative. We were served a large variety of food. The portion sizes were generous. We did not go away hungry. We actually sat down in three of the restaurants, that offered the quaint historical feel of NY. Thank you so much Zerve, Foods of NY and especially Bert our guide. Beth OK

Sephra is awesome

This is our third Foods of NY tour - Chelsea, Nolita, and this. All 3 were wonderful tours, good food, good guides, all rated 5s, but Sephra is absolutely wonderful. (She tells us she always does the 11am tour on her working days.) With her fabulous personality and humor we hardly noticed it was a yucky rainy day. She is hysterical. Just enough history and talk about the neighborhood, lots of light-hearted humor, mixed with 6 small bites (e.g. a risotto ball bigger than a golf ball; slice of pizza) + 2 desserts. The best way to do lunch in NYC!
