Tour guide provides entry into NY neighborhood

Barri (sp?) was a great tour guide who provided lots of information and a lively tour of the neighborhood. This is my second food tour (Greenwich Village last time) and although I liked the food better on the first one, I felt I learned more about the neighborhood this time. 5 stars!

Long on trivia, short on food knowledge

The tour of Central Village was a lot of meaningless trivia and very little on actual food knowledge. On several occaisions, the group stayed on the sidewalk across from the establishment and never even saw the inside of the place. We heard about the leader's family's favorites and continual rants about NYU but talked to only a few of the business owners.

My wife and I love to visit New York City and we always try to find new and interesting things to do. The Greenwich Village walking tour was fantastic. Marie was our tour guide and she was outstanding. We expected to enjoy some good food but the history of the village added to our enjoyment.

We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next evening for dinner before we went to the theater.

We highly recommend the Greenwich Village Food Tasting and Cultural Tour!

Food, history, architecture- who could go wrong? I have gone on two tours so far and each time I go, I have so much fun that I start to think about which tour I will do next. Afterward, my friends and I list which restaurants we want to return to and we do so for the next few months.

This was my second time taking this tour and I loved it just as much the second time as I did the first. Our guide Bert was the best - always helpful, full of information and even gave us recipes, and was funny too - Bert you are the best!! There was a wonderful variation of foods we tasted and places we went to. We came hungry and left stuffed! The shops and restaurants were within a small area so there wasn't that much walking to be done. The food we had was so delicious you always wanted more. I have been on two other of their tours, Little Italy and Chelsea Market which were also great but this one is my favorite. Walking through the streets of Greenwich Village was so nice seeing and learning about the history of the homes and the area. It's such an adorable little neighborhood to actually walk around and see how lovely it is. The residents do local shopping and the stores make purchases from each other - nice to keep it all in the neighborhood. We ate apps, main dishes and of course desserts. After the tour we went back to some of the shops and purchased some items. The store's employees were so friendly and gave us some pointers of various products and cooking. A great day in NYC and a wonderful tour. I highly recommend it!

As former New Yorkers, my wife and I wanted to explore Chelsea Market as a place that didn't exist when we were in NY. We knew of it as seen on Food Network. The idea of a tasting tour was particularly intriguing. We were not disappointed. Bob, our tour guide, led us through the market giving us a wide variety of tastings. Things that we probably would not have tried on our own. Bob had plenty of anecdotes to relate the history and development of the area to keep the group amused. The amount of food available certainly was enough for lunch. We enjoyed the tasting so much, we went back into the market after the tour to buy some goodies to bring back to the hotel and have for dinner.

well organized and well directed tour of Greenwich. When I originally booked the tour I honestly didn't have too many expectations -- just wanted a directed activity for a few hours in a neighborhood I've enjoyed but never seen in detail.

Thoroughly enjoyable experience! Food samples were great and getting "behind the scene" info on the restaurant made things that much more enjoyable. Our guide, Barri, was entertaining and knowledgeable. There wasn't as much walking as I thought -- everything happened within about a 8 block radius-- but this is a fair bit of standing around.

Later met up w/ friends that live in the city and described the tour -- they were very envious!

Greenwich Village food tour a winner

This tour was recommended by a friend and it was actually better than I anticipated. Our guide, Kurt, is very knowlegable about the area and he offered many tid bits which were very interesting.

I was very impressed with the organization of the tour. All the hot food was piping hot as if just came out of the oven or fryer. The presentation of the food to the group was very nice and shows how organized this tour company is. The foods selected for samples are delicious, and I enjoyed every one of them.

The pacing of the tour is just right for the amount of walking required. There were a few stops which allowed the group to sit for a short time and there were plenty of opportunities for restroom breaks.

I speak for myself, sister and brother in law...this tour was delightful and we are all glad we took the time to experience it. We are looking forward to our next tour with this company.

I have traveled the world and always take some walking tours wherever we go. The Idea of learning about the area and history of Greenwich, plus sampling special foods prepared there was unique.

There were 4 of us on the tour. Myself and 3 grandaughters. Everyone enjoyed the tour and left with new interesting knowlege. Plus the guide was fun and interesting. The girls ages ranged from 13 to 21.

I highly recommend this tour.

Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and interesting. She helped us discover and become familiar with Greenwich Village. We returned to one of the restaurants (Pesce Pasta) and had a lovely dinner.
