Harbour Tour and Carriage Tour was very nice. Never did get to do the Plantation Tour. It is difficult to attend all three in one day, due to the closing times of the Plantation Tour and Carriage ride. We therefore had to make a decision to take either the Carriage ride or the Plantation Tour, which was dissappointing.

the pilot of our boat was easy to listen to and very knowledgeable about the history of the harbor. we got up close and personal with many of the forts and bridges around us. would definitely recommend doing the tour early in the morning in the hottest parts of the summer.

The Harbor tour was fine, nothing special, the "guide" stumbled quite a bit, but she was gracious and sweet, maybe just new? On the Carriage tour, however, our guide Andrew from Michigan was absolutely THE BEST!!!! He knew all of the history, easily and thoroughly answered all questions, was very engaging and very, very smart! A true asset to your touring company!! He made Charleston history really come alive for us!

Savor the history

My friends and I took several other tours during our Charleston trip but if you only have time for 1 or 2, I would definitely recommend the harbor/Plantation Tour as a MUST do and see. The Harbor tour was highly organized, timely and very informative while relaxing on calm waters and under a beautiful sky. I can't began to tell you how much we enjoyed the Plantation tour. The tours guides seemed very knowledgeable and made the presentations extremely interesting. My only complaint is that we did not allow enough time to really appreciate the full experience at Boone Hall; take in all the sights, sounds and history. My husband and I plan to return just to visit Boone Hall.

Began with 9:30 boat tour; Charleston morning rush hour not bad; ample free parking at dock and clean restrooms ; afterwards, easy walk to horse-and-carriage ride, which also was very informative and entertaining; ate a nice lunch near the market; walked back to docks and picked up car. Easy drive to the plantation; wonderful house tour. It was a great day in Charleston.

I was told at the hotel that transportation was provided, well transportation was not provided we got there late, it cost us $120.00 to and from the site. I was not at all happy it just ruined our day and cost at lot more than we anticipated. And we never did go on the boat ride, we only did the plantation tour, which was fabulous
Charleston Harbor Tours responded:
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry that you did not take the harbor tour, but it was available to you at any the time you booked or another time that day. We clearly state on the description of the tour that transportation is not included and it's mention on the eticket for this combination tour as well. I am not sure where the confusion came from, but we would be happy to discuss it further if you wish. You can reach out to or call 843-722-1112 anytime.

This was a very good no great day, first a lovely trip around the harber with a great talk on what had happened and what was going on.. Then on to the Boon Hill Plantation, where there was just to much to do and learn about. This was a great day for young and old.

Amazing Combo Tour of Charleston

Three other longtime friends and I bought tickets to see a combo Tour to visit the Charleston Harbour And Boone a Hall Plantation. Purchasing the tickets was easy. Boone Hall Plantation was a three hour experience we all enjoyed thoroughly from the guided house tour to the open air car tour, to the Gullah Slave Tour which we all felt was a highlight, and finally a walk through the beautiful house gardens. We ate a sandwich at the souvenir/snack cafe apwhich we found to be excellent in our sandwich choices. Totally a great experience I would highly recommend.

The next day we took an hour and a half tour on an excursion boat through the Charleston Harbor. We sat on the top level on the bow and it was relaxing listening to the informative guide reveal the different things we saw as we sailed around the harbor. Again, I would highly recommend taking this combo tour which exceeded our expectations.

The Captain was very easy to hear and understand. We were able to understand the layout of the area and the history of the area through this harbor tour.

Carriage and harbor tour

I was visiting Charleston with my adult daughter. We loved the carriage ride. Our guide really knew the city's history and conveyed it in an interesting way. At one point one of the mules became uncooperative. Our guide was able to handle the situation with expertise. I definitely would recommend this activity.

The harbor tour also had a very knowledgable guide. It was a beautiful day. We went all the way to Fort Sumter and then back. This would be great for a history buff but if you're short on time I would suggest something else.

The harbor tour was an enjoyable ride on the water and very informative about the area. The plantation was beautiful and the tour guides were very Friendly and knowledgeable. It was a very nice experience. We were not able to take our carriage ride but the ticket is good for a year so we plan for that to be the first thing we do when we return. I would recommend this tour package.
